You are welcome. MassFX, is the "new" simulation system by Autodesk. It uses the PhysX engin to calculate simulations for cloth and rigidbodies. It replaced the hole "Reactor" system in Max starting I think at Max 12 or 13. The 3DSMaxHowTos channel has to a good beginners tutorial on it.

The animation will render with the time scale applied once the timescale is set. It is generally a good practice to render our an image sequence of your animation instead of a movie file. You want to convert it to a movie in either a composting software like nuke, or flame or in an editing software like After Effects.

Good tutorial. I just discovered this tool to retime animation and I thought it was exactly what I needed. But in the end I can't use it because I can't freely edit the tangents of the retimed intervals. I would need an ease in/out option (not just ease in OR ease out), and it should also affect the track outside the retimed interval, otherwise the flow is not smooth. But I found a better solution: just apply manually an ease curve to one or more track, edit it (and here I can do what I want with the tangents) and then, if I need to extend this retiming to other objects, I can just copy and paste as an instance the ease curve to other tracks.

Hey! :) I looked at all your videos and I didn't saw any tutorial about how to animate with mcloth for a dress by exemple on a character in movement. Also, can we animate it so we can make a render of the result?

@KevinHarper3DArtist11 жыл бұрын
no bother. If you just want to slow the camera down overall, increase the timeline range and slide the keys further apart. If you wish to slow down a specific part of the animation you can use the method from this video.

Hey do I have to bake the re time when i like what i have ?
@KevinHarper3DArtist9 жыл бұрын
You do not HAVE to bake it, you can just keep the time tool going, baking is only if you want to do things with it that requires you to bake it, like taking the animation into another program where the re-time tool does not exist for instance.
