Hey buddy, I did not even realize that the purchase link was still active. I have taken the link down now. I no longer host the file with the videos. Sorry! I have issued you a refund. The video is now 12 years old haha. Crazy how time flies.

old tutorial still good I want to link the gun to the characters hand as he walks the gun follows hand then when he aims would like dual grip, and have IK , gun controlling hands. I cant seem to get the hand to link to the gun maybe because the gun was previously linked to the hand,. I did do a link to world before that. also both the gun and hand are thier own CAT system the gun has only one bone. How is this done how do you get a prop to first follow the hand then the hand follow the prop? thank you.

Thank you, you are a hero. I had already started animating when the nightmares struck - I did not want to start again so my way to fix it was inspired but a bit different from yours. I put each hand on a Local (+L) adjustment layer, so I can add the linking over top my old animation without having to start completely again. Again thanks so much this is genius, I feel like I have been doing link constraints the hard way for WAY too long!! Haha. Using layers to control this is so much better!! :) :) So happy.

Thanks a lot for this! I got a question how can I animate it so that after it swings the 2 handed sword, at the end of the slash arc one of the hands will release its grip on the sword. So the ending pose will be the character holding the sword on one hand.

First of all, shout out to KevinHarper3DArtist, your tutorial still contributes to others growth even after 5 years! Thank you for taking your time to put this together! I was able to come up with a somewhat successful version of the flying paper. I did not write a script as i am not very code/script savvy. I was trying to figure out how to code it for about 3 days, and felt like i was just spinning my wheels. In the end, i did a lot of copy/paste and manual adjustment. The end result is not as flexible if i had a script, but this set up took about two hours, compared to my coding try of 3 days... you can see it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/roaziWCAYqygmZY If anyone has any tips or suggestions how to make it more efficient please let me know.

Thank you. I have actually never seen output from anyone from this tutorial so that was nice. Also, I struggled with scripting for years as well, in the end I found an different way to script and realized that the problem was not me not being able to learn how to code but that Autodesk sucks at teaching from a perspective of a beginner. I always felt like I had to study computer science before I start learning from the documentation. So many years ago, I made this tutorial series from the perspective of 3D Artist. Not sure how relevant it still is as I do not use much max anymore. But here it is. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZi6dpeJlLafnZY

yeah man, your tutorials are very thorough and easy to follow, you should definitely keep teaching! In case you are curious, the final project is up at kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYG4qIGbpdKWgcU The particle flow part is in the second half of the video if you dont have time to watch all the way through. i did not write a script, so changing things and adding a different collider after the fact was time-consuming, but it accomplished the goal. Anyway, thank you for your vid!

Good tutorial. I just discovered this tool to retime animation and I thought it was exactly what I needed. But in the end I can't use it because I can't freely edit the tangents of the retimed intervals. I would need an ease in/out option (not just ease in OR ease out), and it should also affect the track outside the retimed interval, otherwise the flow is not smooth. But I found a better solution: just apply manually an ease curve to one or more track, edit it (and here I can do what I want with the tangents) and then, if I need to extend this retiming to other objects, I can just copy and paste as an instance the ease curve to other tracks.
