I got one too. It's not actually that bright, not compared to my TC20 BUT I have to say it is very unique! The beam DOES shoot out there big style and I'd love to see a comparison with the Catapult V6 as that is 1700 lumens while this is 500. It IS useful as a thrower. The beam is not so tight at say 200 metres as not to clearly see what its hitting. When I gave my neighbour a quick demonstration he said, "THAT'S INSANE! LOOK AT THAT EFFIN BEAM! lol!

That's a serious flashlight. The beam seem too focused for me, as if it's hard to see outside of the direct lights. I use a Fenix ld30 for work

Matt smith did a video on this, using a piece of cheap plastic material it will diffuse into a more flood like pattern

Great flashlight it would be great if they could make it with a zoom lens for more spil.

If red light filter can be screwed on, perhaps a mirror could be screwed on to deflect the beam and shoot a broader light?
@sparkoceanic3 жыл бұрын
Acebeam also produce a flashlight called w50 that has this functionality. I like the screw on diffuser idea above though

A perfect long range rifle light...however its an LEP light and l believe it would never take the recoil of anything over .22 cal. Not a bash on this light.. it never claimed to be a rifle light.. it would have to be on a tri pod and that is about useless. This light is likely not built to be rugged, its a specialty light that really is only an effective defensive light, something to blind an attacker or shooter in your house, in your car, walking dog at night... its NOT your regular flashlight. Mine seems built very well however the light is very special for its ability, in some video a guy got 1.8 million candle power out of a test and that is flat out rediculous for 500 lumen to produce.. hell many with over 3000 lumen do not even come close to that intensity! Its to be cared for, not trashed or beat the way your streamlight can be abused. It is simply a different beast that no Streamlight can touch in its intensity. I had to get one and see a couple companies made their own LEP light such as Thru-night claiming 560 lumen, and Weltool makes a newer larger version of their LEP which produces a whiter beam and seems to be a bit brighter. Its limited in its uses but its the last light a bad guy wants you to have! Mine rides in the car center console with other company. Its a eye blistering weapon!

Because they are basically oversized lasers, the reflected glare from these types of flashlights, are too harmful for them to be of any use in the general sense. They are most likely better suited for pinpointing hazards such as, down power lines or hung up fallen trees. I've looked into them and they are interesting. But, unless it has a wide beam with a uniform foot print, it's of no use to me.

Whats the lumen on this light
@jameshill20154 жыл бұрын
Its only 500 lumen! BUT... Its 1.5 MILLION candela!! It doesn't appear bright but its INTENSE AS IT GETS! It will undoubtedly stop anyone in their tracks and will temperarily blind someone, l find its only real use is defensive use, walking the dog at night, car, house anywhere you may find danger of being approached by a bad guy. It is about useless as a flashlight being so bright on the area that its concentrated on is too bright to make out just about. If you want a defensive light look no further, but if you are thinking its a good flashlight you are going to br disapointed for sure, my lil OLight batonll is a much more useful flashlight but its no defensive light! I wish the W30 had a strobe feature but its only ON and OFF. Very simple. Just my .02¢

I think acebeam has canceled this item. I have one and i believe the reason for cancellation is “parts”.... I think it’s probably more of a legal issue. But if anyone finds out why the w30 is cancelled, I’d appreciate any information.

Get a Olight M3XSUT JAVELOT if you want the same formfactor and some spill
@richardgroves2905 жыл бұрын
If you want more spill, use a different light. This stands out because of its concentration. Giving it spill would just make it a regular light, a rather expensive one. At 500 lumen, it’s power is in its concentration.
@CreeseDF5 жыл бұрын
No! Like Richard said.. It makes this flashlight different! I wouldn't change this light one bit. This is a laser, LEP... It can damage your skin, if prolonged exposure from the light. Get another flashlight, if you want spill, and flood. I love these flashlights with no spill.

Durable? What's your Surefire gonna do 300' underwater? What is it gonna see 300-600 meters out? Want a light to use in your house? Use your Surefire that has a hundred times more spill.. interior lighting was not the W30s intended purpose obviously but neither was using it as a HAMMER.. how durable does it really need to be? I find mine more durable than my OLight K70.. personally I'd never use a .22cal rifle to hunt deer out at 1000 yards...this light is unique and Surefire has NOTHING to compare with it, 500 lumen? with a 2400 meter throw? almost 1,500,000 candella? A SINGLE battery? That runs for an hour and forty-five minutes continuous? All in a 11.5 ounce package?? No Sir.. Surefire maybe made in America but sadly still has nothing to compare to it, but that will change lm sure.. it is a very special light that will hopefully boost the the efficiency of flashlights to come with it's LEP design. It clearly runs ultra cool when compared to any other million and a half candella light. You might be being a lil hard on it and l totally get that it's useless for finding a roll of toilet paper in a power outage under the sink but it does do what others simply cannot. It's def not for everybody..infact very few would have use for it but for what it does.. it holds that crown. I do enjoy your videos..always interesting to hear your take on a light. Thanks!
