Just a small note to add this review! My light actually survived a cycle in the washing machine. Apparently I forgot the remove it from my pants. My wife found it in the washer after the cycle finished. Thankfully she found it before putting everything in the dryer! But it does prove to me that this light is family water resistant, as it works perfectly still 😁

I agree with you on the things they could have done to make it better but I also think that's what makes this flashlight affordable, now upgrading that dam push button would be a good start! I have been carrying the 45lm AAA Microstream for 2 years and actually just gave it to my wife to carry in her purse now that I have my (coyote) new rechargeable Microstream. Its a great day when you get your new EDC pocket torch and introduce someone else to EDC, that never has ! This light is very bright, cant believe the difference between the two. As long as you have a usb cable in your home & vehicle you should be good to go !

My EDC flashlight is Streamlight Protac 2L-X. Length is right at 6" diameter is .75". Lumen output is 500 on high, 100 on low. Sequence is high, strobe, low. It is also ten tap programmable so button sequence can be changed if desired. Same style 2-way clip. It runs on either 2 CR123A batteries or one 18650 rechargeable battery. Runtime with 2 CR123A batteries is 2.5 hours on high, approx 6-8 hours on low. On a single 18650 rechargeable it runs for approx. 3.5 hours on high.Price point is just under $50. IPX-6 waterproof rating. You should consider selling this one as well.

I think Streamlight leads the pack with their compact flashlights. I won't carry anything else. I like your video reviews. they are informative and to the point. if I did not already have the Protac 2L-X, i probably would have ordered the Microstream from you. Keep up the fine reviews. I am certain I will see one or more items that I cannot do without. :)

I misspoke on lumen output on low. On low it is 40 lumens and will run for 30 hours on low. High is 500 lumens and will run 3.25 hours with BL-26 rechargeable battery. It will run 2.75 hours on the disposable CR123A batteries on high. Everything else was accurate. I was speaking from memory before. I paid $50 at Bass Pro Shops. I only had one problem with mine, but it was a simple fix. I saw intermittent operation due to paint in the threads on the endcap.a few light strokes with some 1500 grit wet sandpaper took care of it. Then a drop of gun lube on the threads and it has worked flawlessly ever since. Sorry for the misinformation. Also not taking anything away from the Microstream flashlight. I will probably be ordering several of those to give as Christmas gifts.

I can bust out some beers n talk bout Streamlights all night long (Even though this conversation took place bout a yr ago, well better late than never).....let me pop one open 🍺. Ok I rock both of these lights but my microstream paired perfectly with my Leatherman Surge 5 pocket pouch. They should be sold in this combo. I liked the microstream so much I bought 2 in Coyote color. Unique part of these is the high hits first then the low. When I saw the robust 2l-x with the knurled aluminium body and a 18650 battery rechargeable, I was like oooooooo😯 must give this a try. Damn this shoots a good distance not to mention it can run cr124 or 18650 so what did I do.....I bought another one....ok this message is getting too long. BTW if you guys like the Microstream, try the Macrostream, that too hits the 500lumens but with more of a flood light rather than a throw beam like the 2l-x.
