Man, obviously your playing and tones are always impeccable, but the songs you write to showcase the gear are really beautiful and creative. You’re one of my favorite players!

Aside from the great demo, that intro tune was excellent! One of your best, as they’re all really good. Would love to hear an album of your fully fleshed out compositions. Come on !😊

I like it but not as much as the Revv Tilt overdrive that I have on my board. This pedal has alot of options but yet, I feel like the Tilt has a bit more versatility and ease of "dialing" in. Still, this looks like one worth getting 👍

The Bass level on a HiWatt tone stack only drops 4dB as the Treble knob goes from 0 to 10. The main reason it sounds so different is the Treble level range is 14dB. The HiWatt tone stack is an unusual and complex one. The mid dip can't be eliminated as on a Marshall, but it is more versatile. Leave the Bass at ~5.5. Try turning the Treble down to 1, and listen to the upper-mid peak shift from 5~2kHz by adjusting the Middle from 4-10. Then leave the Middle between there somewhere and hear the upper-mid to high balance completely change while adjusting the Treble from 0-2. It's very scooped otherwise. I'd try using it with those kinds of settings and set the channel switch, increase the Presence and maybe reduce the Bass just a bit as needed.

Pete would approve! Great demo. Question about two things - the noise level and what the amp side is like with the gain down. Just curious if it does edge of break up or if it's pretty much crunch from the get-go.
@ShawnTubbs9 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! I didn't have an issue with the noise floor and the pedal has a crazy broad range. "Edge of break up" is no problem with this pedal into a dead clean amp.

"Noodle, noodle, noodle, tweak, tweak, tweak." Lol! That should be on a t-shirt! Pedal sounds killer, and great intro track! Was there a little "China Grove" reference in there? (Or maybe Kravitz' "Are You Gonna Go My Way?")
@ShawnTubbs9 ай бұрын
Haha, thanks!! This one is a little bit of "Blinded" with a little bit of "Won't Get Fooled Again" and indeed.... "China Grove".

Hiwatt side very fizzy. Hiwatts can be really clean yet have a unique texture to them. No Hiwatt pedal I've heard really captures that. At some point they just become a big fat gain pedal and so what? This one does get the Who's Next and Quadrophenia crunch sound pretty well. Those big A and G and D chords. But SO fizzy. Try exploring the clean sounds. Turn down your guitar volume and let's hear the CHARACTER of the amp side. You did it for like 10 seconds... All that said - - great playing! Loved intro!

Hi. Great demo as usual. Wanted to ask what to do with a delay pedal and the hi power. Would you put the delay in the Hi power's loop or after the Hi power? Thanks.

I would run the delay pedal after. Thanks for watching!!

Shawn your playing and music on these demos is superb! I noticed you play Fender type guitars but you don't actually play any Fenders, I don't think I have ever seen you with one! May I ask why? and if it is a too involved answer or too personal just don't reply and I will understand! I love your channel either way!

Fender guitars are awesome. I had a Cunetto Custom Strat that I had to sell years ago.. One of these days I'll find one like it.

@@ShawnTubbs hey glad to hear! You mean the Custom Shop Cunetto Relic strats? awesome! I am a unapologetic Fender fan boy myself. I have a butterscotch tele, a 60s Vintera Roadworn strat and Vintera II 70s strat...love the Vintera line! Poor man's Custom Shop, I have heard it called..lol..thanks for answering! Can you plug this into a passive speaker cabinet? If not what is the ideal amp to use that the amp color won’t fight with the tone from this pedal? I know a lot of you tubers play through professional recording equipment which I don’t have. Thanks!
@ShawnTubbs9 ай бұрын
The Hi Power wouldn't be suited for plugging direct into a passive cabinet. The overall circuit is very versatile and will most likely sound good into most amps.
@pepppery9 ай бұрын
Thanks for your prompt reply, I def will get this pedal and plug straight into my Mesa Boogie Thiele cab😃@@ShawnTubbs
@pepppery8 ай бұрын
I got a reply from the manufacturer, it can only be played through a active speaker cab or DAW.@@ShawnTubbs
@GJMcD5 ай бұрын
@@pepppery Obviously a misunderstanding - this is made to simply plug into the front end of a guitar amplifier, or into an amp's effects loop return should you choose to bypass the amps preamp. You can NOT plug a regular guitar pedal directly into a speaker cab for a myriad of reasons.
@pepppery4 ай бұрын
@@GJMcD I thought it was like the milkman 100 or the Eros over drive 30. Thanks for the reply regardless.

If you mean good, then you're correct, but if not, then I recommend watching these videos with quality headphones or with decent computer speakers. If you watch KZbin demo's on your phone, while sitting on the toilet, then you're doing yourself a disservice, because it doesn't even get close to how they really sound. Oh BTW, wash your hands and disinfect your cellphone.
