FYI : Denali is the tallest base to peak mountain above sea level in the world, 18,000ft from base to peak plus the 2,000ft plateau it sites on. Everest is of course the highest altitude peak but it sits on the already high Himalayan plateau which is 17,000 ft high, Everest itself if 12,000 ft from base to peak.

I agree, I did it once in the winter, that was enough for me. It's a lot of fun during the summer though. They should drive it again when they come back up here. Better views and more colors in the summer.

I just discovered your channel and love your content. I am a life long Alaskan. If you want to film a moose, your more than welcomed to come over to my house. There is an expectant calf who comes nibbling almost daily in my back yard. I live halfway between Fairbanks and North Pole. Anyways, I hope you enjoy your trip to Alaska and am looking forward to more vlogs:)

Safe travels! We live in Wisconsin and are used to conditions like that, but you can't count on others to take the care that you do (as you saw when crazies pass you like you're standing still). At least you've got a Subaru rental...makes all the difference in the world. Looking forward to Allison capturing a moose or two on video...stay safe, be well and thanks for sharing your adventures!

Good for you guys taking a trip like that in the winter. I was stationed in Alaska for 9 years (you passed by it on the Glenn -JBER) and my wife and I drove that route many times and even did the ALCAN in winter; you get used to it. But....I cannot imagine doing the Anchorage to North pole trip at 38mph.....that is a long slog.

HAHA, You guys are fun to watch.. I used to drive that in the dark in an 18 wheeler in worse conditions at the speed limit with some regularity. I still frequent that road in the winter and there has been a handful of times I had to slow down to the 30's, but that's usually when visibility is about 20' due to snow storms. Way to stay safe in an unfamiliar environment though.... By the way.. don't be terrified of that little camp robber.. He won't eat much and if he pecks you, you won't die..

Hahah; I love the part where you shared your average speed (38 mph) going up the Parks. I suppose that, after a time (and with a familiar vehicle), one becomes more acclimated to the road conditions. If I happened to pass you like you were standing still... I apologize. :)
