For all the people freaking out that they went out in the snow and ice, I am from upstate NY and this level of snow would be school in session and everyone goes to work. Its all relative to what people are used to and comfortable with. Its only unsafe if you feel unsafe driving in it. Way to get after it guys!

Same in Minnesota…except if these communities are not ready for this with clear, it could strain the emergency systems because of possible accidents just to go thrifting? However ice is a losing driving battle in any conditions yet in their favor they have a heavy secure truck so that’s a plus.

I see this all winter long from around October 15th through sometimes May. I love watching people who don't see snow and ice regularly or driving it regularly try to Fanangle life in it. Enjoy my type of winter for a little bit God bless you all please stay safe

Here in Topeka, Kansas, we have 13 1/2 inches of snow on top of a few inches of ice. We haven’t had weather like this since about 2011. Things were shut down for days and schools open tomorrow. To top it all off our temperatures are in the teens. Miserable. Be careful out there. Love ❤️ and Hugs. 💙💙💙

That’s how it is this winter in Alaska. It keeps snowing, thawing, snowing, thawing. It’s like driving on an ice rink in Alaska this year. Not much snow either because it keeps melting. I keep an eye on the Wx with my friends posts driving around. Luckily I’m in Asia this winter. Currently I’m in Vietnam right now. It’s chilly but no snow.

I was in Louisville at the honey bee expo and saw the ice and snow forecast and the freezing temps. We drove up from florida and bolted out of there Saturday afternoon and drove far enough south to miss it all. Nice to have the stores to yourself!

As a Canadian, that much snow doesn't even count as a dusting. Mind you "most people" in areas that get a significant amount of snow have proper snow tires and experience driving in it, so life goes on as usual.

We moved to Ohio last year from south of Buffalo. The weathermen have been talking about this "measurable" snow for a week. We got about 3" As you said - a dusting . I do not miss the feet of snow that WNY has already had this year.

Not safe to drive in Kentucky when there's ice. Limbs break, powerlines fall. That much snow is rare so they don't have the snow clearing capabilities (like farther north) and then ice on snow turns everything into an ice rink. If the wind is up it will blow you off the road or into oncoming vehicles.
