@crazyeyes744 Жыл бұрын
Yeah they are great cars, very durable and strong engines. Pull starts do tend to vary in how long they last but usually if you are having lots snap regular its due to the engine running much too rich and soaking the pull start string in fuel. You may have just been unlucky but usually thats the cause😉

Awesome Fella the problem i have is i love my eb4s should i say but i feel as tho they will struggle in the sense of competing at modern level that hurts me to say. And to spend the money on one to take it to the maximum level would cost a lot in excess of 500? unfortunately. but i like yourself am old skool .but cant part with them like yourself ?want to buy a modern 1/8th like kyosho but the prices are frightening and this would need more doing? but i want to compete at club level in the mix .please could you give us some help or advice captain coz i love my eb4s i cant part with them. Sorry for all the questions all the time🙏😪
@crazyeyes7443 жыл бұрын
When you say you want to compete do you mean you are going to race them at clubs? Or do you just want somthing faster or better? There are plenty of Nitro buggys out there that are very good but i think you may struggle to find anything in 1/8 scale that is better than an EB4 but for the same kind of money. Most 1/8 buggies can be modified to how you want them.
@leonrawautomotivedetails57853 жыл бұрын
Awesome 👌 if you had 2 could you put a more spicey motor in them like a picco or novarossi we out being silly would the transmission be okey or even say a rtr kit with a kyosko ke25 motor in the eb4 anno only asking please coz lovè my eb4s pleaseeeee only asking🙏❤👍😎
@crazyeyes7443 жыл бұрын
You could fit pretty much any 1/8 nitro engine but you would need to bear in mind that in the EB4 S2 its a .21 and in the S3 is a .28 and trust me the standard Thundertiger .28 engine is plenty powerfull enough so if you were to start fitting anything much bigger than a .28 i think it would be too powerfull and uncontrolable but who knows for sure untill its tried. As for the drive train coping, yes i think it could cope especially the S2 as everything is metal gears and the driveshafts on the S2 are very thick and strong.

@crazyeyes74410 ай бұрын
Force is going to be the most simular to standard Thundertiger so i would go for that but its up to personal choice. Depends if you want it to be standard spec etc.

They did big bore on the 2.5 same colour as chassis they any good captain 👍
@crazyeyes7443 жыл бұрын
So the shocks and springs on the S2-pro and the S2.5 are the same. The springs will be blue and the shocks will be a gold-ish type colour and made from alloy. They are great yes and strong. The only thing i would recomend and this is only if you are going to be using your EB4 purely on road is that you put a thicker shock oil in. That way the suspension will be stiffer for better on road handling😉

Awesome so in terms of parts thats needed to keep in the old box just in case ?what do you suggest please parts that i really have to be aware of having? Pull starfs. Need the captains opion please. btw you vids are awesome love these cars
@crazyeyes7443 жыл бұрын
If you have one and want to keep it running for a long time then you should only need basic parts. Pull starts will never last for ever so allways keep spares of those. Any rubber gaskets, fuel pipes, glow plugs and shock oil. Most other parts are only needed if they break from damage or very hard use.😉. Thanks😁

Its my prized possession as well captain. And mine is the s2.5. What would the twin gear set up be out of a s3? I want to build a s2.5 into something that can with stand modern rallycross 1/8th tracks plus be just as durable and nimple as a modern kyosho tki4 using the same 21motors. To basically have a very rare modern eb4 thats strong and it will happily mix with the modernised technology
@crazyeyes7443 жыл бұрын
Hmmm ok interesting. What about using the S2.5 chassis and drive gear but with the .28 engine running with a two speed gearbox and the shocks from the S3. The rest would be up to you but thats a good start i think🤔.
@leonrawautomotivedetails57853 жыл бұрын
Mmmmm interesting captain what would the 2 speed transmission be out of the s3???
@crazyeyes7443 жыл бұрын
The S3 is only a single speed still same as the S2 but there is a kit you can buy online to convirt either car to a two speed. I belive its fairy simple to do if you have good knowlege of working on nitro cars so you should be fine😉

What is the difference between the s2. And the s2 pro. And the s2.5 pro. If you could shed some light??
@crazyeyes7443 жыл бұрын
Well the S2 has been about for a long time. The 1st version still had a .21 engine but was a much older style and the chassis was not as well thought out but it was still a great car. The S2 pro had the newer updated version of the .21 with the red cylinder head and the blue shocks with alloy housing and an enclosed battery tray along with a few other bits. The S2.5 is the last of the run before the S3 came out and is the best one. It had lots of upgrades including twin brake discs and stronger components and a better radio gear. I have probably missed a few things but thats the main stuff.
@leonrawautomotivedetails57853 жыл бұрын
Thats why your the chief of eb4s😁☝🤓 how come the 2.5 has big bore shocks as opposed to the ally ones you use question is which is better🙏👍😎
@crazyeyes7443 жыл бұрын
My EB4 S2 is actually the S2.5 anyway so it has the better alloy shocks anyway. The suspension on the S3 is good aswell. The very early S2 EB4's were the weakest shocks. The best ones are on the S2.5 and S3

@crazyeyes7443 жыл бұрын
I had a look at the images on google. From what i can see. The last run of the S2 seems to have been fitted with the S3 shocks but still has the S2 chassis. Im not 100% sure if the engine is still .21 on that model as if they used the S3 shocks they might well of fitted the .28 engine as it is fitted in the S3. I only own an EB4 S2.5 and an EB4 S3 so i havent had one with parts from both.

Where can I get that filter and alloy wheels
@crazyeyes7443 жыл бұрын
The filter is a breather filter for a real car engine but depending on size of your carb you will need the correct inlet pipe size but the filter you can get from most places like halfords or ebay. Ebay will be cheaper. Remember if you buy the silver mesh filter you will need to put the foam part of your standard filter inside it.

@crazyeyes7443 жыл бұрын
Its mostly down to personal choice but i would say the S2.5 is the best model of EB4 but the S3 is very good too but there are areas on it that are not as good as the S2 mainly things like drive shaft size/strength. The perfect EB4 would be an S2.5 fitted with the .28 engine from the S3 in my opinion😉

Ah right. That makes sence now then. Well i used to race my EB4.S2.5 years and years ago at a local rc track but after that i turned it into my most prized rc car and now just use for fun and making the odd video for youtube. I think in a buggy class race you should still be able to keep up with modern stuff with only a few mods, mainly to the gearing like adding a twin gear to it so you get better acceleration and top end speed. Other than that the rest of the mods should be easy and fairy cheap to do. You would be better using a newer EB4 though, somthing like the S2.5 or the S3😉
