and the train left the station.... Nice to see some Crazy Parts 57's make the channel! I got'em in my 335, very bright and cutting!

Nice playing, Stones rule! After swapping out the Area59 PAFs for Mojos (both vintage wire) I’m putting back the Area 59’s this morning funnily enough. I prefer the middle position tone with the Area59’s and they are more full sounding in this specific guitar. I have the old wire Mojos in another R9 and they work great for that guitar. Cheers

Also found the Mojos on the thin side. But after switching the neck and bridge around (8.5k and 7.9k) and putting a short A5 in what is now the bridge they are where I wanted them. Deep and smooth neck with a snarling bridge. Planning to switch them around again and try some A4 magnets. I found the Mojos particularly sensitive to height adjustments, including the bobbin screws to mismatch the coils. Tons and tons of variability there. Sometimes the a too bright and too dark tone were less than an 8th of a turn apart.

@@davidcookson9424 I totally agree with you regarding the pickup height. For me, everything came together with my Four Uncles bridge and Royalmount inserts and thumbwheels.

I don’t know if there is a correct word to describe actual PAF’s but your pick of ‘granularity’ is as good as anything. When you hear an old PAF to my ears they don’t sound as fancy or rich as Throbaks or Wizz they sound more like this. It’s a shame Doug and Pat didn’t try these. Not sure if you’ll read this but are these actually available? Most of the pick ups on their site are listed as ‘coming soon’. Cheers.

These were listed as available when I got them a few months ago- maybe shoot them an email and ask? Alternatively, I know these are wound by Marc at Mojo pickups (www.mojopickups.co.uk), and then the metal parts are installed at Crazyparts…maybe you could ask Marc if he could wind you a set and put the hardware in himself?

How do these compare to the crazyparts 1959er paf set?

Less hot, more single coil

Love your vids, they're incredibly helpful! How would you compare the ReWinds and Mojos in term of 3d granularity and breathy top end? Would be very curious as the Mojos I have (thanks to you) are absolutely top notch but some of the ReWinds seem very interesting too.

Honestly, I have nothing but respect for James at ReWind and many of this pickups are extremely high quality, but there’s something about the Mojos that gives them the edge- a little more of that granularity combined with clarity, and a touch less boominess.
