Man this one was so much easier. I remember using cut and sew tool on the table tutorials and since I'd just started out back then, it was a nightmare. Also, thanks for making this tutorial!!

You're very welcome! UVs can be a pain, but once you learn it, it's not so bad. :)

@@AcademicPhoenixPlus Indeed! Also, I'm in a bit of a pickle! I hope you can help? I'm trying to render Hair created in xgen interactive grooming using my gpu but its just rendering it as white. So I deleted the physical hair shader and instead connected the color output to aistandardhair. Now its only rendering it as black(even if I use cpu, aistandardhair still renders as black only). Do you know how to fix this? I tried looking online but got nowhere

It gonna be interesting as UV panel scares me most of the time... A quick tip from my side which I found is that if you hold TAB then your pointer changes to paint select and you just need to drag the left mouse click over the faces you want to select or deselect. Hope this will increase the speed

I know I’m late to this video but at 12:52 you say you don’t recommend JPEG’s is there any reason as to why? As I’ve been using them with my game textures, as I have realised it saves a lot space compared to when I was first using PNG’s?

That's a good question. JPGs are compressed, so you do not get the pure blacks/ whites, and will blend colors together. PNG, TARGA, TIFF are not compressed, so you get the pure colors. They can also hold alphas/transparency, and jpgs cannot. The files are larger, but for a good reason! I hope that helps 😀

I'm not sure... try going into documents>maya and deleting the folders in there. They will come back when you open up maya. It 'resets' maya. I hope that helps!
