Thank you for another great video! Practical and helpful tips that are easy to understand. It's true, many people forget about the importance of breathing. My husband and his mother have practiced meditation for over 35 years, both of them look 20-25 years younger than their chronological age. Each of the six points are so important for feeling good and aging well.
@FitMotherProject4 жыл бұрын
Very well said (and super cool about your family & meditation). Many of the most practiced meditators (yogis) look 30+ years younger than their chronological age. It's amazing what mindfulness and learning to relax both the body & mind can do for longevity and graceful aging!
@RockeyToes4 жыл бұрын
@@FitMotherProject Yes, and they both practice yoga. It's amazing the benefits of doing a few healthy habits, on a daily basis, they do add up over the years! Just like savings accounts and wearing sunscreen, at times, it's not convenient, but after a few decades, you'll be thankful that you did. ;)

Whooo, getting our bodies back aligned with our natural circadian rhythm.... that's not an easy one for night shift workers, or even a lot of shift workers that work various shifts, even after we're not working nights anymore. Took me the better part of a year to get that one down, but it was TOTALLY worth it when I did. I felt soooo much better being in the sun!

Wow this video was quite the eye-opener! I had no idea about the importance of circadian rhythm to stay healthy. I only get 6 hours of sleep a night, and what Dr. B said is true -- I drink lots of coffee and choose bad foods because I'm too stressed. Can you address the night shift workers? I am a Respiratory Therapist and work 6p-6a, 7on/7off. Would having a SAD light at works help? I also wear sunglasses before I step out of the hospital and have room darkening drapes and shades in every room that my day shift husband closes before he leaves for work at 5am. I have 7 more years before I retire and would like to be a much healthier me before that time.

For the first philosophy....how about if one had a sleeping disorder? I have idiopathic hypersomnia and always tired. Does that mean that I'm not producing serotonin because I'm always tired?
@FitMotherProject5 ай бұрын
Great question, thanks for writing in! Getting quality sleep isn't the only way to help boost serotonin levels. A healthy dietary intake, plenty of exercise, mindful meditation/breathing, and sun exposure can all help as well.
