Is it safe to do passive hanging with previous rotator cuff tears. Also I have arrived of the cervical spine with stenosis. Is this something that can help or exacerbate pain? Thank you
@FitMotherProject3 жыл бұрын
Hey Manders, thanks for writing in and great questions! Unfortunately, overhead work may be a bit risky for those with rotator cuff Teras, especially when adding in pressure to the stretch. Regarding these stretches for your stenosis, it is really a question better suited for a therapist as only they know you and your body best as we can only provide general health information. -The FMP Team

Excellent video, thank you. When I do a kneeling quad stretch I get a bad cramp in my calf. Now I am too scared to do this stretch. What causes this?
@FitMotherProject4 жыл бұрын
Hey CO, thanks for writing in and I'm sorry to hear about the cramping! That is completely understandable as cramping is such a terrible sensation. This can simply be from your body contorting to a position it is simply not used. When you get in these sometimes awkward positions, your body overcompensates in some areas to handle the pain...and in your case, it seems as if that might be the calf. The best way to work through it actually comes from your breathing. So if you can focus on inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth, to focus on breathing as you slowly get into position, you have a better shot at avoiding cramps. This and ensuring you are drinking HALF your body-weight in ounces of daily water, as well as using something like Pink Himalayan Sea Salt to help get electrolytes in your system to ward off cramping. -The FMP Team
@ChilledOut4 жыл бұрын
@@FitMotherProject thank you so much for the reply. I will definitely focus on my breathing and up my electrolytes. It is the middle of summer in Sydney so I am more than likely dehydrated.

When is the best time to do inversion table?
@FitMotherProject3 жыл бұрын
After working out 👍
@dianneu3102 жыл бұрын
Is it safe to use the inversion table if you have had both hips replaced?
@FitMotherProject2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dianne, thanks for writing in and great question! Unfortunately, the type of replacement and your doctor's recommendation should play a more prominent role in this decision. On one hand, if the joints are healthy enough to support your weight, it's a great tool to use! On the other, having a big chunk of your weight with pressure on your hips may be too much to bear. Please consult with your doctor before moving forward. Thank you for watching! -The FMP Team

Just started checking out the fit mother videos. I’m 68 and starting the weights program and stretching program. I will definitely have to start with less reps on the weights and less time on some of the stretches but I’m OK with that, lol! I really like the succinctness and clarity of the instructions and not having to listen to a lot of superfluous chitchat👍🏼! Thank you!
@FitMotherProject2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback @Chase Ory - We do like to get to the point here at the FMP, and give you the best advice and information we can. I'm glad to hear that you found it valuable, and however you need to start is totally fine. The most important thing is, you're doing it! I look forward to seeing your progress!

Great video! Thanks, I’m not able to sit on my heels (Child´s Pose) it feels like my knees are about to break! What can I do to improve this stretch?
@FitMotherProject3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for writing in and great question! To be honest, it may just be a simple flexibility issue and the other stretches in the video can help with that! By working on opening your hips and quads from the other lower-body stretches, you'll be able to get closer to doing Child's Pose. Plus, you can still do the Crescent Stretch or Passive Hanging to stretch similar muscles from Child's Pose in the mean time anyway. -The FMP Team

Can these stretches be done before working out or after working out?

Since so many as "static" stretches where you are holding the position, we recommend doing this AFTER working out as dynamic stretches (think stretching a rubber band back/forth) is more appropriate for beforehand. Best of luck! -The FMP Team

@FitMotherProject Жыл бұрын
Hey Padma, thanks for writing in and great question! You can actually do a similar stretch by sitting in a chair, placing the ankle of your intended leg on top of your knee (from the leg flat on the ground). This allows you more control if your knee pain is aggravated from the stretch. Thanks for watching and best of luck! -The FMP Team
