Thanks a lot Stephen for the great tutorial. I was wondering is your template epub 3 or epub 2? thanks for the reply.
@StephenOutram3 жыл бұрын
Tina, it's ePub 2. Sigil facilitates conversion to 3 with a plugin, 'ePub3-itizer' github.com/kevinhendricks/ePub3-itizer . It should convert fine as the template is not a complex structure. There's also various online convertors available via Google. I'll see about adding an ePub 3 version this year. In addition, check out this link about the differences between 2 & 3 (Tom's comment, down the page gives an overview) ebooks.stackexchange.com/questions/59/what-are-the-differences-between-epub2-and-epub3

Sigil has upgraded since these videos were created, removing Book View and replacing in with an integrated application named Page Edit. Visit this playlist and you should see the first video about Page Edit. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaemdnlphdKXoqs

do you talk about first line indent on every paragraph somewhere? do I have to add it in the css or is better avoid and leave the ebook reader make it?
@StephenOutram7 жыл бұрын
I didn't cover this in the tutorials. You can edit the CSS file, the P (paragraph) tag so that all paragraphs do first line indent. See here for information on the CSS, www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_text_text-indent.asp You can also write inline, in Code View, for a single paragraph like this,

I see you, like many, are using bookview in Sigil. Sadly this fundamentally useful feature has now been removed from Sigil, rendering Sigil useless for the average user. On the Sigil forums a very elitist view has prevailed that bookview is not necessary to edit books. The Sigil devs are all adept in HTML of course, so they do not need bookview. To them this means nobody needs bookview. It is totally absurd and mindbogglingly stupid.

I've added an updated video to the series that shows integrating Sigil's PageEdit editor. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaemdnlphdKXoqs
