Create Candlelit Portraits: Take and Make Great Photography with Gavin Hoey

Using candles as a source of light for portraits is an exciting idea but it comes with some problems. Slow shutter speeds and unflattering light on your model are two pitfalls photographer Gavin Hoey will demostrate and resolve in this video.
After the shoot Gavin will take you into Adobe Photoshop where he'll add some finish touches such as the instant snow effect.

Great stuff, as always! One thing I love about your videos is how you build from the ground up for most of you shoots, as well as showing us a selection of the trial and error along the way. A lot of videos just show the setup and don't show the problems that commonly pop up - you show us stuff we're likely to run into and different ways around it.

Thanks Gavin, this was a really great tutorial. I had a go at a self portrait replacing candles with a camera to shoot myself taking a shot. It turned out better than I could ever of expected because of the "snow" action. Really wish KZbin would allow us to post pictures as well. Keep up the good work, I hate to think where I'd still be without your tutorials.
