Is this tool just for patterns used in 3d images or can the pattern be exported for use in irl fabrics?

This looks to be exactly what I've wanted. There's only one hesitance in buying it immediately - Can it export these patterns to a 3D mesh? Edit: I'll answer my own question. The standalone program can not export to any 3D file format. Substance 3D Sampler does not include the export to mesh feature that Painter and Designer have. Of course you could export the substance file or the image files and put them together manually in another program to get a displacement that is a mesh, but it's not going to be a mesh that has any real weave either, just an impression. Also AFAIK there isn't a send to Painter or send to Substance Designer function. I think it's still a really nice feature, but it could be more slick.

Use the Height to deform hi-res mesh sample by image source, then optimize. There is no problem to create a 3D mesh, it's just your incompetence

Amazing, bring some more tutorials for sampler like you have for designer and painter.

I've never heard of this software yet. Where can I get it ?

Idk why my replies from my tablet keep disappearing when I go elsewhere, but you can find it somewhere on Adobe (to buy with some subscription aka renting it) or you can buy it permanently on steam(my personal choice) Anyways time for me to list some things about the steam version. While it doesn't contain the ability to send materials from designer to substance painter or sampler to painter, they are basically the same thing as the regular Adobe subscription version of it(with the exclusion of getting material points from Adobe to be able to "buy" materials from their custom library of which the name I forgot is; please note that the programs will still come with the materials, it's just the material points are to buy "professionally made" materials, kinda like a stock photo but instead a customizable material. On the steam version, like mentioned, you own it forever. HOWEVER, you only get updates for that year that you purchased it in, and when that year finishes, you still own it, but you won't get anymore updates(I don't know if it gives bug fixes, but I don't think so even though they probably might if something is destroying the ability to use the thing). I forgot to mention the steam version is like 150 dollars while I think the subscription is monthly for about 20 dollars(comes packaged with designer and painter as well; ends up being like 240 dollars per year) but a cool thing about the steam version is that if you preorder the next year's version(aka just buy the next year's version when it comes out in early November like usually around the 25th; also I think the deal runs out early December), you can get that for even cheaper. So if you had bought ANY any year of that same software on steam before(though sampler only went on steam just this year),it cuts down that preorder price from 100 dollars(all of the products during this time by default are like 33% off because of the preorders and because of it being during steam's fall sale) down to like I think 75 dollars. Of course that promotion only lasts for a bit but it's still amazing. Speaking of sales, these products also go on sale during steam's summer sale, dropping them down to around 100 dollars)They also have their other 3 substance products on steam for the same default price of 150 those other software being: substance painter(awesome non-destructive texture painting software), substance designer(very fun node based thing for making procedural textures;this and substance painter are industry standard in texturing tools), and substance stager(thing for making and rendering scenes;haven't used much but seems like a pretty good software that is getting better with each update). Anyways, yeah, I feel that it's more worth buying it on steam(both options are pretty expensive regardless)

the draw custom weave doesnt work at all since the last update ...

One BIG problem with the cloth weave filter no roughness control so when you export to substance painter the values of the roughness are totally screwed up. The filter needs a roughness slider instead of preset

Hoping this makes its way to Designer as well!

Hi Olof, I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon - we try to keep the full-fledged, complex filters like this to Sampler. That said, nothing stops you from using it in Designer, just go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D Sampler\Resources\assets\StarterAssets and drag the SBSAR into Designer. Or keep it elsewhere for quicker access. The only thing you won't have is the SBS source.
