These tutorials are the best I've found! You are really great at explainging and being clear about how and why you do things! Thank you so much! Could you make a tutorial for how to make a candleflame animation using bifrost?

Such a great tutorial, thanks so much! Really love your channel. I just have one quesiton, and was wondering if you could help me.. What if I were modeling for example a neon sign ; and I want the flickering expressions to start at different moments in time through the scene (because I am lighting one letter at a time). Is it possible to key the expression itself? Or would I have to type something directly into the expression to alter that?

Hi everyone, I had the same problem than few people : With the sin function, the flicking is too regular With the rand function, the flicking is too fast (every frame) With some forums, i founded the noise function which is more random than the sin and more adjustable than random. This is the expression i used : pointLightShape1.intensity = noise(time*2)*0.5+1.6; Of course you can tweak the values but it works pretty well i found. If you have multiple lights, it can be interesting to add an offset to not have the same flicking for each candles.

what if I want that expression for a particular frame slot ? how can I do that ?
@adamh7485 жыл бұрын
I would like to slow down the flickering but I need to be able define the intensity range. Can this be done with the noise expression? Thanks in advance!

Do you have expression that uses rand(intensity1 , intensity 2) with time?
@AcademicPhoenixPlus5 жыл бұрын

They are small polyplanes with a candle flame image mapped onto them, plus transparency.

The responses below are correct! They are image planes with transparencies. :)
