Create iPhone 12 Pro LiDAR Scanner LASER BEAMS | Advanced Light Rays Tutorial in After Effects 2020

In this After Effects tutorial I'm gonna recreate the iPhone 12 Pro LiDAR Scanner laser beams that I saw in Apple's Promo Video:

Which Plugins have I used? Videocopilot's Saber Plugin? Red Giant's Trapcope Particular & Form? Or even Cinema 4D?
Wrong :). No Plugins! Just built-in standard effects.
Here’s a hint. I used the card dance effect for the disintegration effect as well as CC Light Rays to enhance the scanlines.
And wow, Rotobrush 2.0 is totally amazing!

This is 1st time I've subscribed any channel. I had to do this because the artist said he don't use building plugin. As a animator and VFX leaner this is my basic and main rules to not use plugin as I believe everything is possible in after effect. I'm not saying using plugins in bad but I believe if I do this then I'll miss tons of process(how they works) forever. I believe to know how something is building is better than to do it by one click. By the way, I always spend time to learn as learning is my passion. So, this is my personal perception, hope anybody will not take my comments other way. Thanks

I am very impressed with your tutorials. You answered something I was trying to do totally different but it was what I needed to make the laser way more realistic in my video. You could animate the dashed lines directly in C4D. Maybe with a cloner + random effector. And then import the c4d file and do the rest im AE 😎

I'm on mac M1 max, and it is VERY HEAVY PROCESSING it. Like one frame at 1/4 res every 10seconds.

Right. Absolutely heavy! I would prerender the shape layers first and put the effects afterwards.

Amazing....this kind Hollywoodish scans can be done in ae...i thought no ae can't be that ahead...but i lost...I'm still on CS6 btw😂😂🙄🙄 no gpu,Intel core 2 duo,only render in 12 fps😂😂but still happy with what i create..

Thank you :). You know, I did a couple of AE jobs for feature films. So no need for Nuke, Flame etc. :). CS6.....good old days.....but you can still make professional stuff with it. I don't even remember CS6 already had shape layers 😂
