That custom car is amazing, seriously. I'm not sure he knows about the Figur G15 Sheet Forming machine. I get it, he's stuck on the lost art retro machines but the Figur G15 machine can form every part on his car in this video. He might have to slice the parts in the CAD software but he's already slicing parts here so it's the same process, slice, tig. The point is the process is faster because it's digital CAD and parts can be tweaked on the computer before building.

This was beautiful 😢 poetic, artistic, creative and raw. This is what I wish social media and technology should be used for. Losing yourself to find yourself in this chaotic dance we call life. Life is a roller coaster that people don't truly understand when your someone that loves and desires to create with your hands and your soul. I'm an ol school motorcycle guy and car enthusiast for the Life of me. One too many wrecks makes it difficult to bounce back and follow your craft and that becomes death while being alive. Long suffering and dreams start to slip through your fingers and grasp as life itself feathers away. Life is short indeed. Still chasing dreams out of Chicago Illinois and it's wonderful to see people living them out especially when they're passing it along to their next generation and family. Much love to the father and son and to those who haven't quit on their dreams. It's the journey of getting there that'll be memorable ✨️ nothing happens over night. Tools are expensive and I once told someone if I won the lottery with the taste in tools and machines that I had, it's be gone in a day!!😂 great loving video and story. I needed this 8/4/2024 🙌

My father was a panel beater. That name hides astonishing craftsmanship. He could create wonderful shapes from a flat sheet of metal. Using mainly hand tools. Perfect shapes like mirror smooth symmetrical aircraft propellor bosses. When he retired he was the only man left able to restore coach built hearses in the county. Now we import those skills from India and Pakistan where they are still widely practised.

I stopped creating custom homes for clients for the same reason that you mention. It becomes a part of you in a similar fashion as having a child. No client I had was capable of understanding that. I would sweat blood for over a year and when the keys were turned over I would never be invited over for coffee or a party. So I quit even though I was the Architect and builder. Now there are many like me who design and build projects for ourselves. And as surprising as it seems, when I must sell there are buyers waiting. It is still heartbreaking when you drive past your masterpiece and see that it is now a lovely shade of shit brindle brown.

I both love and hate this creation. I love how it looks going by at speed. I hate how it looks up close with all the imperfections. To me that doesn't scream craftsmanship, it screams just good enough to work. I idea the imperfections so soul is a cop out. If Jaguar put out this level of work back when they were still shaping bodies by hand, they would have never made it to the modern day.
