CREATING A GHOSTLY BLADEMASTER TANK! | Project Ascension Season 8 | Classless WoW | M+, Raiding

Mcdoubles back again with a brand new video and today we create a GHOST TANK with a bit of a blademaster twist, and a slight nod to the great Grommash Hellscream. In this video we hop on our tank character on Project Ascension Season 8, grab a 2h weapon, and start 2h parry tanking our way from level 1-60 and straight into Molten Core!
This build is awesome and is only playable because I finally got lucky and obtained the Ghostly Blow random worldforged enchant and then combined it with Hell Scream for the ultimate blademaster theme! We also check out quite a few other epic enchants like Crackling Thunder and In the Zone to create a devastatingly good 2h parry tank.

36:08 You actually might be defense capped. For a parry tank I think you get 3% crit reduction from talents, you need 5.6% to be capped by a boss mob so adding talents plus def you're good to go. Edit: you can make use of defense past the cap as well since it gives mitigation stats too. -Yrathel

Parry tanks always the funnest tank builds to play. I think its the first character I ever made on the seasonal realms but eventually I stopped playing them because of it being a lot less viable back then, glad to see it finally getting some love!

Something to note as a 2h tank, the Deflection talent from the arms tree reduces the chance you're crit by 3% which greatly reduces the amount of defense rating you need. iirc it halves the amount you need, so if you have the talent points available (3) you could easily pick up either Ghostly Reflexes from enhance sham or Demonic Resilience from demo warlock to cap yourself allowing you to easily use dps gear if needed as pure non block tanking gear can be annoying to find at times.

A big mitigation talent you missed for this build is Enveloping Shadows, -10% physical damage and -30% damage from aoe effects ( physical or magical so bosses who aoe cleave with their auto attacks like most of the dragon raid bosses get double mitigated) while Ghostly Strike buff is up. Honestly that talent alone makes Ghostly Strike a worthwhile pickup even on shield tanks since it gives you 10% dodge instead of parry on top of the huge mitigation from Enveloping Shadows. - Xenthalus

Like someone else below mention you may want to try BftBG as a strength based 2h parry using with Twilight for mass self healing. I'll warn you up front though that currently Hellscream's bleed effect doesn't proc the Twilight heal for some reason, possibly a bug the devs can fix at some point.

3:10 grunt take that personally. Either way, grunt was also thinking of taking on a ghostly strike build, but grunt whould obviously go with ethereal form, just for the looks, regardless of usefulness. Could grunt suggest vampiric embrace with the twilight enchant? Not sure if it heals alot, but it seems useful with hellscream and (in case you have that talent) the warrior bleed talent, that causes a bleed on every crit. although, it may take too much advantage away, should it replace an epic enchant

For your next character (since you already have the parry tank gear) please consider being a Blood Parry Tank. Use Blood for the Blood God, Vampric Embrace with Twilight epic RE, Hell Scream for aoe rends and crimson tempest for aoe bleed. Beyond that’s it’s just a typical party tank core.

I am a dedicated 2H tank build, and have been since like season 3, and I ended up quitting this season due to a lot of really weird decisions that negatively impact world pvp, resolute, and battlegrounds. It's very frustrating to see all these really cool, really fun parry tank things all of a sudden after I quit. This season has been, in my opinion, one of their worst. The open world is empty and everyone is just spamming queues and rushing to max asap. There is very little sense of world or wonder. I really hope they fix it.

il do on area52 and own crafted pala tank on max armor and max all damage and magic damage taken talents with mana shield eldritch knight seal of wisdom and meditate means instead of block parry dodge i absorb more as 88% of all damage with manashield he had onli 9% dodge 7% parri and 0,22% block ond mostli heals dont need more then 20% of mana on me for heals with shield and one handed weapon
