This scene is a recreation of one of the most iconic movie moments in film history!
• Jurassic Park (1993) -...
I wanted to do something a bit different with this one and having worked on Ark for the last several months this seemed like a good fit! Starting off this one was a little bit of a challenge as there were a number of things I hadn't taken into account such as different camera ratios from the ones used in the movie to what I have in editor. Overall this was a ton of fun and probably one of the more challenging ones I've done so far! Scene took me 4 and a half hours from start to finish.
-All rights to the first bit of audio/music and Jurassic Park belong to Universal Studios
-All of the Assets and Dinos used in this video were created by Studio Wildcard for the game Ark Survival Evolved.
Music used in this video are from the Cinematic Music Pack on the Unreal Marketplace, Ark Survival Evolved, and Jurassic Park!

24 years ago you had to be a professional special effects animator at the top of your field using the most powerful equipment and software to do this. Now anybody with a home computer, some time and talent can make this. And it even looks better in some ways then the original.

Great, lighting seemed a little dark though...
@evilmrfrank
@evilmrfrank 8 жыл бұрын
It was a tad dark yes :) It was definitely something that was a bit tricky to pull off as there is no dynamic global illumination in Ark that would help in this situation and with the environment being nearly 100% overcast because of the thick grey clouds there wasn't a whole lot of direct lighting. I tried to fake it with a few dozen spotlights which helped a lot as well as over compensating with a slightly over bright skylight but I could have pushed it a bit further :)

Now I am sure EU4 can be used to a bunch of other stuff than just game creating. But if this cinematic would be to part of a game, how would this work? Do you have multiple worlds/levels in which you shifts in between? How big can a map become? Are there such limits, I mean you can't just build a whole continent like Kalimdor from WoW?
