Honestly who doesn't sit back relax and watch these video's of Shawn's and just forget about what's going on around them and just lose yourself in the scenery, serenity and the beauty of the landscapes around his little homestead and watching Shawn's vision of an idea slowly merge into fruition in this patch of the forest

And now shawn is promoting his daughters viewership by being in them so she too can earn $80K per month .... oh the things people dont know! I am sure if anyone on here were to have their own youtube channel Shawn would watch it!! Let that sink in!

Shawn, as I watched this video I realized a terrible mistake I made. When my husband and I (both then 70) worked on projects on our four acres, I would get so frustrated because I would look over and see him leaning against the shovel or rake staring at the sky or the woods rather than “working”. I’m always caught up in trying to hurry and get the job done Seeing you stop when you heard the geese and a few other times, it made me realize you (and my husband) were soaking up your life and surroundings. He died a year and a half ago and I FINALLY understand what he was doing. Thank you for this understanding. I’ll be leaning on that shovel and rake a lot more from now on instead of being hell bent to finish. I’m going to soak up life and the experience...whatever I’m doing Cali’s excitement at the geese was an added bonus. I could almost hear her say “Come on!! Let’s go get them!”🤣

I’ve traveled for a living for the past 22 years. China, Korea, Japan, Africa, Europe, Middle East, US, Russia, South America, Australia, Tasmania etc etc. In France now heading for the UK. Pretty much 11 months a year on the road. I built ( Pat Wolfe shell) a beautiful log house on 5 acres just outside Ottawa and I miss Canada. Nice to know that your home is your favorite place to be especially when you’ve seen most of the planet. I sit in my hotel room and watch Shawn’s videos for hours. It’s an important connection. Not sure if he realizes the value his work has on my daily routine and over all general mood.

741 videos down on this channel, 260 videos down on Shawn James and eagerly waiting for the continuation of this dream, that one man made a reality for himself, his wife, and his dog... This life that he has made isn't for everyone, but everyone wishes they could live like this... to escape the bustling lives they live... the polluted air, polluted waters, the crime, and the disrespectful people we encounter everyday, people that think we should respect them, but are too obtuse to realize you get what you dish out. I just went back to re-watch the very first ones (they're my therapy) and I'm always struck that for each minute spent relaxing (love the skating one) there are 1,000,000 minutes spent working. I like how when the geese went by Cali was like "is it my time to shine?!" You should look into making bio-char with some of the waste wood, like branches and cut offs. When mixed with compost and other such things, it becomes an ideal medium for beneficial bacteria and helps retain moisture and nutrients longer. Tends to improve soil productivity a fair bit in most cases as long as it is properly charged before adding it to the soil.

What is he building now? I assume the charred ends of the logs will inhibit rot, etc. when put in the ground. I look forward to seeing the new outdoor kitchen! That was always my favorite part of the former campsite.

The moose fence will protect your garden well. Sure beats a white picket fence! 😂. Rain, hail or snow, nothing impedes Shawn’s plans. Loved hearing the geese and Cali thinking she could retrieve one from above. ❤️👌

I’m just so excited watching your new homestead coming along, Shawn. Good seeing your family there...will be great when you’re plans are complete and you can revel in the beauty and quiet living off grid. You’re an inspiration to many, and from what I’ve seen so far, the land seems even more beautiful than where your other cabin is. I hope you still share your days with us when things do come together, but I’m pretty sure you won’t stop for good and will always be creating your next project. God bless.

Absolutely no explination required, Shawn, we can see clearly what you are doing, plus we know any explination will come. These are things you need to do...essentials things and you have to prioritise. A case of grabbing the moment to get things done. So you go right ahead. Whatever you are doing, we are right there with you.

Your stamina is still impressive. Loving this new venture. Might i suggest honey berries...they are prolific fast growers you just got to be ahead of the birds when they ripen. They make great jam and for cooked desserts. Some perennials like rhubarb and sorrel, will be the first green early in the season for a delicious soup. Best wishes.

You should catch up on all his previous builds at the old homestead site. I came across his site accidentally as he was walking his prop laying out everything, then started his outhouse. Was hooked from the beginning; approx 5+yrs ago. Shawn has only gotten better, he has madd carpentry skills, but also good at everything he does. 🤗 His ora shines thru even on camera, which is why so many ppl love 'n respect him! P.S. hope you heal well n have a speedy recovery. Used to be charge nurse on a rehab fl in hosp up north. So ik you're going thru a lot. Pls make sure n do your PT. It makes a tremendous diff. God bless n God speed!

I love the peewees, and geese. I helped my dad plant over 1000 trees, and he’d have us soak them for an hour, before planting. Nice selection of trees. I still don’t understand a guy who builds a new outside cooking area ten feet high, then doesn’t dig a hole big enough to spread the roots when planting his nursery stock. It’s evident that calli would rather be petted, than chase her favorite toy. Who would have guessed? Stay safe.
