I was given a few project files by Tristan and it contained this actual sound from when he worked with Astrix . Astrix actually made it using the plugins which come with Ableton but you've done a perfect job recreating it with Serum.
@raphh113 жыл бұрын
man any chance you could explain/share the project to see how it's done with Ableton plugins? Thanks

I swear I have the most fun trying to recreate your tutorials with the wrong tools. I don't have Serum, but right now I'm getting surprisingly close results using Sylenth1 for the oscillator and S+H, Xfer's LFO Tool for the formant filter (There's even a "variance" control that can be modulated), and then using inserts for the rest of the effects. Great tutorial as always! Thanks Dash

Instead of using the chaos modulator or an LFO, you can also assign the cutoff and variation envelopes to the velocity modulator, this way you can change the sound of the note by changing the velocity of that note

Just discovered your channel!! These are by far the most helpfull tutorials on youtube. because i can simply apply these techniques also to the genre of prog and not only psytrance. im a producer myself and i would love if you also would feature some stuff from harmonika, vermont or aura vortex. they have some pretty amazing, tight and clear sound design, id love to learn more about how to create those sounds and basses they create :) hope to be able to support you soon on patroen

soundcloud.com/hallucinogenmusic/hal002-harmonika-lock-and-load-free-download This track is a good example for a complex build of various sounds and especially drums. I always wonder how to get such clear drum sounds coming trough the mix with so many other sounds hitting at the same time. Also it seems for the Bassline that for the different parts there are different lenghts on the bassline? its so complex i dont know where to start to understand all this madness :D Greetings from switzerland!

Thanks man, yea like I said in the video, its tough to get it exact without knowing the steps he took, I'm guessing he also probably didn't use Serum, but maybe Virus TI or something. Any way I just want to inspire other producers to get them going in the right direction, not create a bunch of Astrix clones, so I don't want to make it exact :)

Hey Dash, firstly I want to say thank you for your insane tutorials. I have been watching you from the very beginning and I sucked when I started. But through your amazing way of explaining how the sound works has given me so much knowledge that I am now able to listen to other artist, analyze their tracks properly and even get pretty close to recreating their sound. That being said😊(see what I did there), there is one sound I am really struggling with. Yes it's another Astrix sound, but this one is very close to my heart. This song was the one that hooked me into the beautiful genre of psychedelic trance. The song in question is an oldie...... kzbin.info/www/bejne/apvdc4mKprCYm9Usi=1hHglFWklkyTekbR The sound is the lead that he brings in on a drop at around 3:04/05 That particular sound and the way he arranged it over time has given me plenty of smiles and memories.
