I have watched countless of tutorials about Studio One pro which I own a copy. I can not find anything on how to record drums live into studio one, i also have a Studio Live 32 console which does not control Studio one at the time of this writing. all my inputs are set into 12 channels in the Studio live, then connected to an iMac via usb and recognized by Studio One automatically assigning the inputs and outputs using the Studio Live board as interface and audio playback. Now there are 2 Yamaha Monitors SH5 connected to the main out of the console. I can see after adding 12 tracks in Studio One the signals if I play the drums, I have the drumless mp3 added in Studio One astrack 13 and also a click with its tempo, after pressing USB in Studio Live console when I hit play and even record in Studio One I can see everything populating and the signals, I can hear via headphones the mp3 which is controlled in Studio live console in ch 1 fader and the master but I can not hear drums anywhere other than live which overpowers everything. I know i have not assigned the returns or monitoring because I just do not know how. i am new to recording and working with these equipment. Presonus support for newis does not exist, as matter of fact calling them gets you all day waiting on the phone for it to "hang up" after hours, nobody to talk to, nothing. For the money I expended on all this i feel not too hot. I knew this is not for beginners but I am having a hard time understanding what is it exactly what i have to do and where; there is not simple a complete step by step tutorial; everyone assumes everyone out there knows how to work with audio equipment!

I've had Studio One for several years but used it for mixing my live group. But like so many groups, egos got in the way so I disbanded the group. (Disbanded - that's funny) anyway, I wrote the originals so I've been delving into making my own music in Studio One and this video was very helpful but just shows that there is a serious learning curve. So I have 2 questions (for now). 1 I have the Komplete VST package but I like the drums in IMPACT - you mentioned how to select the pads to correspond to the midi pads, but is there a way to create your own custom IMPACT Kit using drum sounds from different IMPACT drums presets? Example: I like the Bass drum and snare on the 60s a GoGo preset the Shaker On Chiller's Joint the Crash on Balkan Lines etc . Can I create my own custom drum kit all on one IMPACT pad using sounds from different ones. 2 I also learned that as I am laying down midi instruments, my computer has trouble processing it so it skips, jumps and digitizes. Very annoying when trying to create music. Studio One is the only thing open and this computer is dedicated to just this one purpose so there is plenty of memory. It runs Windows 10 with 12GB of Ram with a AMD A10-8750 Radeon R7, 12 Compute Cores 4C+8G 3.60 GHz Processor (whatever all that means) How can I resolve this issue? I believe I know once it's done I can render it as sound wave versus digi, but until then, can it be stopped?
@quantaaudio6 жыл бұрын
Hello, Wil. I just whipped up a video on how to go about saving the presets in Impact. You can find that, here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6eVqpmdpNd1o5Y I'll have to get right back with you on the other issue...

I'm wanting to use a Roland JUNO-DS into the PreSonus [STUDIO 24c] box. A couple of issues. 1. I have the PreSonus going to a USB port on my computer. When I hook this up, the sound for my computer [anything, KZbin, etc] goes away. My computer is running "Realtek HC Audio", so not sure if that is going to be an issue. But no sound plays until I unhook the PreSonus from the USB port. 2. I have the left and right out channels from the Roland hooked into the front 1 and 2 of the PreSonus. It is the same issue. No sound. Someone at a music store told me to run my computer sound system directly into the PreSonus headphone, and I did get sound [not how I want to do it]. However, I'm not sure which selection to use in order to get PreSonus to identify that I'm wanting to use the Roland in a track. For these, is there any other videos which would help? The only thing I've found on "setting up an external keyboard" is for Midi keyboards. Thank you. I hope someone can help me out.

@@EtruscoUnico On the front of the PreSonus unit itself, it will. I don't get any action showing on the actual software screen, nor do I know exactly how to make it recognize the Roland. If you click on "Demos and Tutorials" on the start page, you should see some songs that you can open up and practice with. If you don't see anything there, then you should look at the top of S1 and click on "Studio One/Studio One Installation..." and then check the box for "Studio One Demos and Tutorials" and install that. Keep in mind that this is only available for the Artist and Professional versions of S1.

How long is realistic to learn enough to do good final mixes on a 4-5 piece small combo with 3-voices? 6 months to a year? I realize that's very subjective and also recognize there's a ton to learn. I'm retired, so I can dedicate 5-10 productive hours a day to this. I'm running the latest Studio One 4.1 Professional.
@quantaaudio6 жыл бұрын
For songs with a limited number of tracks as you've described, you can certainly get good mixes in 6 months, or so. The most important thing is to get clean, solid recordings of your performances and this will make the mix process much, much easier.
