Cutting front fork base is an issue of structural integrity. 100kmph on this bike(this bike can do it easily) might lead to a disaster. Also the disc plate is not welded properly. It should be welded for the whole circle for better strength. But the concept is good. Appreciate the thought and work 👍👍👍 Hope in future companies would introduce conversion kits 👍👍👍

You're right bro.. he should make full weld in that disk brake..
@sayujraphael2 жыл бұрын
The concept as a whole is really good, but a couple of points of concerns are there, like the Cutting of the front fork, changing to a wider fork would be a better option, and the same with the disc brakes, should have upgraded the calipers to match the rotor that came with the wheel, One more potential safety hazard are the batterys, Li Ion batteries need cooling, there are chances for the batteries getting really warm inside that box and potentially cause a fire, same with the BMS ,it also needs some sort of cooling.

@TheLazyWandererMys2 жыл бұрын
Exactly my thoughts, the cutting of the forks is a major concerns as it is a stress point and the strength is cut by half. Second thing is the Disc itself, those welds are not strong enough, the least you could do us weld the complete thing as the torque exerted at those joints could turn out to be near fatal. The Batteries need cooling, since liqui cooling isnt an option, may be make a heat sync of sorts? Not sure how much it will help though. The project is not as crude as it thought it would be, in fact I am quite impressed by it. Kudos to the team who got it working. I understand the thought process behind the choices/compromises made during the project but the concerns need to be addressed before you use the bike regularly as it could be potentially dangerous.
@Killianwsh2 жыл бұрын
@@TheLazyWandererMys Actually the fork will fail much more easily than if it ONLY had 50% of it's orig. strength! Front forks of motorcycles & bicycles are not designed to resist the additional torque that a hub motor generates! If he is, actually getting anywhere near the 2000w figure he's stated out of that motor, I'd wager that fork WILL FAIL, as if it only had 10-15% of it's orig. metal left.

I am not engineer but I would like to suggest 3 things. 1) Front shocks must be parallel to each other all upto lower axle bolt, no matter how you install bldc motor. 2) just above or in front of radiator there is good space for mounting controller. 2)like someone said...u can split battery pack or for better looks mount second box removing sari guard. Controller also can be fitted in this box. Kindly make arrangement for ventilation in battery box for cooling with protection from water in mind. Use primer before painting metal sheet. Do not use nylon cable ties for securing power cables...they will break.(Own experience) Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

So, my question is can we charge the battery by driving with the petrol engine? For example, i drove with Electric motor for say, 40Km and then i switch to petrol engine and drive. Will the battery get charged by driving so that i can use electric motor again when petrol is almost over? It would be great if that's so. Just my intuition.

Very nice job done. I've been thinking about that for a long time. It was great to see your work today. Those who travel a short distance within the city will be able to use the battery power, again if they have to go on a long trip or run out of battery then there will be an opportunity to use petrol. Many thanks for giving us such a wonderful work.

Very well though and executed. Great job. I have a question what's the range you are getting when you are running on battery when full charged.

Welding couldnt be stronger than a single piece of metal at high speed due to exerted acceleration and moreover you could have made disk manully in lathe.btw the concept is good informative

What about the weight of batteries that is fitted on right side, I think you should have equally distributed the weight on both sides of the bike

The battery could have been divided into two parts for equal distribution and should be attached on both sides. Otherwise, it is a fantastic job. You can do this professionally for other customers.

All the best with broken disc while braking at higher speed, plus reduced strength of the front forks as you have cut the lower end, their stress bearing capacity reduces...

Extremely unsafe at higher speeds. Changing the design and welding inappropriately will lead to serious disaster
