Priceless information to help new brokers. Holding on to your authority to build credit was a first but very smart advice, if you can do so. Some truck factoring companies will not offer credit to new brokers, so this can limit your carrier pool. Thank you!

Most won’t now! And some people think buying an mc will mitigate that…it will not. At the end of the day transportation credit with factoring companies is very different than standard business credit both are evaluated seperately

@freightskills I was told that my MC would be different than a carrier's because I could get a contract the same day. Possible... but will I be able to secure carrier's and/or my own factoring. T** will not give brokers credit until they've been active 90 days. It's the same thing many brokers say for new carrier's. Thank you for mentioning Haulpay (?) I will be confirming name and reaching out.

Thank you for your time and for helping us here! Question: If my authority is inactive for a few months due to no bond on file with FMCSA, will it be viewed as a new MC once I get my bond back on file and reinstate my DOT again?

It will not be viewed as new but the age will be equal to the amount of time the bond was active

So if I’m brand new broker what factoring company will do business with me? I have reached out to 5 different ones and they all have crazy requirements for a brand new broker like 50k monthly cash flow and some want you to have at least 10 customers to set them up is there a specific factoring company that works with brand new brokers and is haul pay requiring you to do a certain amount of loads per month do they have a yearly contract you have to sign?

You have to set up a surety in order for your brokerage to age.
