Maybe if you can get a little interest from them, you can get a trial run possibly. But, all the training in the world, it's tough with no experience. Can't even get hired as an agent with no experience. I believe the best way for me, which I want for you to help me with, is drayage. I like that, and feel for me, that's the way to go. Getting carries, I'd have to go out there, and talk to drivers. I just want to work local, in New Jersey. I was a car carrier, and I have experience what they encounter daily, being a driver. I wish I have found you sooner, I already got a freight broker course, but I do need your drayage course. I'm not looking for big money, just a little side hustle. I'm 67 years old, lost my class A because of an horrific accident, and have a brain injury, because of falling off my carrier. Anyway, hope to talk soon with you.

I have ran a brokerage for over 10 years. I catch double brokers posing as carriers and scammers DAILY. It is terrible right now. You really have to check who you are booking even if you already have thier MC set up and have used them before. Scammers are stealing carriers identity all the time. If you book a load with someone with a gmail email, call the companies main line and verify it is them you are booking!

I have reached out to 5 different ones and they all have crazy requirements for a brand new broker like 50k monthly cash flow and some want you to have at least 10 customers to set them up is there a specific factoring company that works with brand new brokers and is haul pay requiring you to do a certain amount of loads per month do they have a yearly contract you have to sign?

If they are lying why would you want to work with them anyway, I look at it as in fine, I will move on. Find someone else or who they are buying from then get the loads that way so when I call again and setup a appointment I can be like hi I am part of your customer now :P

Excellent info! We were just scammed 2 weeks ago by an imposter that posed as a carrier, booked the load and then sold it to another carrier as a broker. It was EXACTLY what you said! He asked for 1/2 upfront or else he wasn't going to deliver. LSS, We lost nearly a $1k... sucks!

I used to dispatch drivers who would go inside ports since they didnt have twic cards, brokers would provide like a gate pass, they would charge him like around $45 i think- just a tip to know

Even with strenuous due diligence, the fraudsters still get ahold of load info. The shippers are the only true line of defense. All shippers need to take one simple step....any driver who checks in for a pick up must be required to sign in with the brokers company name who tendered the order. If it's a scam, the driver will have the wrong name. My shippers have made this standard policy. Also, and this can be difficult for some... do not offer fuel advances or quick pay until carriers have developed an ongoing relationship of multiple loads completed.
