Can I just say that I have been playing Mario Kart DS since shortly after its release in 2005, and it was actually my first ever video game? Over the years I also collected Mario Kart 7, 8, Wii, 64, and Double Dash. I've single-handedly beaten each and every one multiple times, and I still make time for them all. Hearing this song that was literally the hugest part of my entire gaming experience honestly made my month, possibly my year. Not only did it sound amazing, but the staggering and uncontrollable amount of nostalgia from the years and years of playing this game crashed down on me like a blue shell and almost had me broken down in tears. The first time I ever heard of Mario Kart DS was up at my grandparents' house, where I was sitting in the recliner with my older cousin watching her play. She was playing the flower cup but she had to use the bathroom so she put the game down and told me specifically not to touch anything. Me being a little kid that does the exact opposite of what anybody says obviously waited until she left the room and I started the next race - Waluigi Pinball. I remember it like it was yesterday, the wormhole, the twisting curves, staying out of the pinball's path, the jump, the spiral, the dip, the turn down into the pinball stage, the triggers, and the two left turns into the finish line. Obviously for my first time racing I didn't place well in what I later found out was 150cc, but from there on I promised myself I would become the ultimate driver. A few months forward into May, I received a blue Nintendo DSlite and two video games - Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force and Mario Kart DS. I had my share of difficulty playing both as a child given I was only five or so at the time, but I was more than willing to figure it out. The most difficult courses for me were Choco Island 2 and Rainbow Road. The only thing is I loved the look and soundtrack to Rainbow road so much that I would play it over and over again. I remember playing Rainbow Road and finishing 6th once, but over the course of the next few months it became my favorite track. After about three months went by I was placing mostly first, a couple of second places depending on the race difficulty. Now I'm practically unstoppable. I may play 6 different Mario Kart games and I may have a collection of nearly a hundred games on all combined platforms, but I will always love Mario Kart DS the most and I will always be fondest of those memories. As many times as I may cream other players in online multiplayer on Mario Kart 7 and 8, and as many times as I may play the others, nothing beats the memory of the time I stayed up all night trying to find a point limit for the VS mode (999 points btw, I reached the limit in 101 races but I did a 102nd one just for fun) or the thousands of pixelarts I made for my custom emblem - things from the 24 of Jeff Gordon, to each Mario character thumb in the course selection, to the Corvette and Z06 badges, to remakes of the characters in Bowser's Inside Story, to non-Nintendo characters, to memes, to whatever else I'm forgetting to mention. I probably have over 10,000 hours just on my Mario Kart games alone, and you're damn right I'm proud of it. I know every track like the back of my hand, I know every single note of every single song and how long it carries out, I know every single character and kart, I basically have an exact replica of Mario Kart DS stored permanently in my memory. So as I write this while listening to this astounding cover of the credits to my favorite game, I personally thank you from the bottom of my heart for reminding me about where I came from and for helping me relive all my nostalgia! P.S. I noticed there's one set of notes in the song that's played a little shorter than it is in the actual credits. At 1:00 you start playing the next 'section' of the song that goes A-C-B-C-A. the B is played a little too chopped from the version in the game, and I believe it's played more like the A notes in the section of the song. A minor difference but I heard it a couple times and figured I poured my heart out already why not give a little feedback too. Either way, the video is priceless because it brings back so much. Thank you!

Mario Kart DS was my very first mario kart game and I was really young, thus I have only ever seen the credits 3 times. All of them in 50cc because I quit early on the others because I wasn't able to get in first place. I didn't know how to drift so 50cc was also a challenge to me and I spent most of my time in time trial just mindlessly exploring the maps and playing what I called "Luigi's cleaning services" which had me driving across every nook and cranny of a map in Luigi's vacuum kart. Needless to say, reaching the credits was a magical moment for all of those 3 times.
