I know ccr is beloved.. but I still say that John is probably the greatest singer that doesn't get enough credit for being a great singer. You never see him on the top all time singers lists.. yet his voice was powerful, flawless, and held deep old soul. And don't forget.. they put out their best 4 albums.. 48 songs.. in ONE YEAR. Think about that.. NO ONE even does 2 albums in 2 years any more

This band was exceptional! I was a high school sophomore when this album was released, and, of course, it became part of my collection! Not every album released by every group would receive my attention! Only if it happened to be the Beatles, or....CCR! Not The Rollingstones, not The Beach Boys, not even The Animals! This was a special group: owned every release they ever had...along with The Beatles! Groups back then like Dave Clark Five, The Byrds, Beau Brummels, Classics IV, BeeGees...literally hundreds, kept us on our transistor radios, transfixed on much music! Even today, when I hear a song on SIRIUSXM'S '60's channel, it will take me back to a moment in time long gone but still in my soul. Wish I could describe the feeling! I just close my eyes and I'm transported into a happier place. Thankful I was around for all that awesome music!

Love your reaction to this incredible performance! I’ve been a fan since the 60’s, they didn’t stay together for a long time, which is sad, because of fantasy records screwing the band & esp John out of royalties from songs written by John. Their music still lives on because it is so good, and we can enjoy it again through reactions !!

Screamin Jay's performance -- the video is in black & white, from 1956--is brilliant on many levels. Musically, visually and politically---and probably more ways I don't even realize. Every time this song's been covered, it's like brand new. But none is better than the original.

Whenever I see your reactions, I can tell you obviously feel the music to the core of your soul. It makes me wonder if you also "see" the music--colors and shapes or patterns. It's an unusual condition called synesthesia. I'm an artist and that's why I love music--I "see" it in my mind as colors, shapes, and patterns. I thought everyone could till about 12 years ago. Just curious it's just so obvious how much the music physically affects you. CCR is amazing for synesthesia!
