I'm a Florida boy born and raised, grew up fishing the saltwater flats of tampa bay, but i've been camping up in that northern part of alabama, and boy would i sure love to spend a summer just walking those little creeks and fishing!

Great video Richard. Your RECORD spinning reel is a treasure. You may know that the company RECORD developed from a mid 19th Swedish watch maker company that evolved into the ABU GARCIA company today. That reel could likely is 70 plus years old that preceded the Ambassadeur reels of the 1930s. That company always claims their reels are for a lifetime. Thanks for allowing us to see one at work.

Man I love catching small mouth bass. They all fight like bulls. Even the small ones feel like they are huge bc of how hard they fight u. I caught a 4.5 pounder last week and it was by far the best battle I’ve had with a bass. A lot of fun every time. Thanks there Elmo...we always like your vids.

Your vids are EXCELLENT Machine. My 15 year old son and I don't miss many. Thanks to this vid, he and I are about to take a walk down to the creek to flip some rocks over for crawdads which we will then take to a bigger creek that we catch a lot of channel cats, bass, and drum out of.

Wet leaves will keep em alive all day as long as direct sun does hit em.....just enough water to keep everything moist....best bass bait I have ever used

Very Nice! I really like the added challenge you present using the vintage reel. I still use a Daiwa PMA 1000 my wife bought me in 1986. I have caught thousands of fish with it, mostly creek fishing.

Thanks for the bass fishing got to have a laugh that vacuum I really caught it took me like 30 mins to get it up to the boat under Bethany bridge. They were like Chad what do you have. The funniest fishing I ever saw was at a dam flathead fishing 2 people beside got a slam on their rod all 4 gates were open both of them fought for over 30 minutes. The guy said is that fish still kicking that hard yeah dooooooont loooooose eeem finally they got the fish up to the bank and they were both trees 8 ft long kicking in the current in the basin that guy slung that up on the rocks he was not happy I was rolling laughing just like I was about to hyperventilate half the night Laughing about catching that upright vacuum. You love to laugh fishing for bass. Good luck on your fishing Gene. It’s always a great way to cheer up is watch you fish

I use em on big water too....they work around rocky areas and dams but I haven’t found a place yet they won’t eat em....loving this vid Gene....one of my go to techniques....dern the secrets out lol 😂

Yeah I remember 60+ years ago daddy took me creek fishing many times. He had hip boots and was wading. I had to keep up with him by following along on the bank through weeds, vines and briars way higher than my head. When we came to a bluff he'd pack me across to the other side on his back. GOOD MEMORIES! I still love to fish small running water.
