It's always so much fun watching you fish, man...and you honestly simplify things to the level of every common fellow and gal who enjoy fishing the simple, ole fashioned way with normal gear everybody can get--without the 50 mile trips on power boats or $500.00 per day guides or what have you.

Thanks for reminding me how much fun it was fishing ditches in central and south Florida. Worst thing that ever happened to me was a friend taking me Snook and Red fishing around Everglade City and this Corps of Engineers “S” turn at Port of the Islands. Ruined any other kind of fishing if you’re into top water and throwing/skipping lures.

Used to fish The Tamiami Trail canals the same way. Bass and snook galore. The Oscars and the Cyclids or the peacocks weren't there yet when i fished it. looks like they've taken over. Not sure i'm as excited about them as you are what with the natives apparently being pushed out. Used to be BIIIG fish in those cuts.

I'd take my kids where we could catch a brook trout on every cast. A nice small stream in the mountains of Colorado. One stream I liked to fish would yield 5 different species: brook trout, rainbow, brown, cutthroat, cutbow hybrid, in a single day. All nymph fishing with a 6 1/2 foot Cortland Black Diamond fly rod and a hare's ear nymph I liked tie.

Creek fishing i am a south florida miami native and now living in Alabama many years ago my friend use to tell me man we can't eat those oscars and seclids but later after fishing in the Okeechobee lake we caught tons of them and please don't just catch them they are just as good as brim and even crappie to eat. So take my advice take a few home to cook. The invasive species of oscars, seclids, and peacocks, and snakeheads are good!!!!
