I only found your channel about a week ago, but I can't get enough. THIS is my bliss: creek fishing. Wading in ankle/knee-deep water in search of the next hole. Love it. I don't care if I'm just catching creek chubs, or the occasional rock bass. At 60 years old, this is my preferred fishing. Unfortunately, I live in N-central Ohio, and our creeks and rivers are just drainage ditches. A sad story. A river in my hometown, which once held multiple species of trout, rock bass, largemouth, is now just a ditch for field drains and sewer overflows. It gushes out of its banks when the rains come, and stagnates into a handful of pools in the heat of summer. Only the carp flourish here. Your videos make me very, very envious. I've been to the Smokies, but never fished there. Your content makes me want to run away from home.

I was fishing below this Dam in Missouri with a friend of mine and he laid his Poles down and all of a sudden the bam started running water 🌊 without notice and before he could get his Poles it came up five feet, then the horn went off. He lost everything but the poll he had but boy did the fish start bitting. Thanks for sharing your trip..

But I've been there a few times after that and like you said sir some days are great and some days no action at all lol. Thank you so very much for sharing this video with us sir. Hey John I think that one bass you thought was a mean mouth was indeed a mean mouth. When they have a mouth or a tongue patch and that mesh pattern like a smallmouth, they are a hybrid. From what I understand they usually fight like hell. And that bait you found was a river2sea Glide bait. I can't remember what it's called.

John, many dams in the country are 100 years old or even older. Even many big ones. A crap ton were built to give men work in the late 20's, early 30's during the depression. The Hoover dam was built to be structurally sound for 10,000 years.

@ 15:20 Is that a skipjack? What's the story on those? Is that considered a gamefish, or no? I'm guessing no, since you seemed to be considering using them as baitfish for cats. How edible are they?
