CREEPILY HEARTWARMING?! SPIRITED AWAY Full Movie REACTION / First time EVER watching!

The vibes throughout this whole movie were ABSOLUTELY IMMACULATE! The animation and backdrops were gorgeous. Although we don’t fully understand Studio Ghibli movies on first watch we still enjoyed it! The world of Spirited away was VERY immersive and we never knew what was gonna happen next. We are glad Haku and Chihiro’s parents survived!

people try too hard to understand spirited away when they watch it. you nailed it when you said 'it feels like you were just dropped into this world' everything you need to know is there, you dont NEED to know every single rule behind every single creature and magic thing you see. that's why watching this movie as a kid (i used to watch it almost every day) was so magical. you felt like chihiro just confused in this world and you could only wonder about everything the movie didnt tell you.

Exactly! And, as a Kid, you just vibe with it, you don't question why everything is so wierd or what is the lore behind it. To enjoy this movie you just have to see it like a kid would, just letting yourself be transported to this world and don't try so hard to understand everything

At least some of the spirits are classic Yokai, like the hopping heads, and the rest definitely have that aesthetic. You'll also notice that Yubaba plays at being a noblewoman but slips into being a monstrous oni when she loses her temper. As for the giant baby, Yubaba's smothering means that he can't grow up - he just keeps getting bigger. Dragons are river spirits, and very powerful. What I love about this movie is that it's such a classic example of fairy tale logic. She's kind and tries her best, and others help her in turn, but she doesn't take more than she needs.

Lots pf people believe that The Faceless is the spirit of greed, that's why he was consuming all the frogmen as they were greedy for gold, but Sen didn't want anything from him, and that's what made him interested in her

actually i think Faceless is simply a lonely blank spirit that get change depend on his surrounding which is why he is Faceless, he himself does not have an identity so he could only take it from thing around him if he is around greed he will grow greedy but once he get out of the place he become normal again

I personally think it's related to greed but he isn't a greed spirit himself. He's corrupted by the bath house and the greed of the people in it. And he's very lonely, so he gives people things so they'll like him, but Sen doesn't need gifts to be kind and so he's confused.

Spirt away it's pretty common folklore in Japan. People disappear forever or showed out after years it's not unique to the anime. So if you are not familiar you might feel the lore is trippy. People believe they mistakenly got into spirit world.

it won't be so convoluted if you r familiar with with fairy lore and some japanese folklore... there r bits of similarities - it's like passing through the veil of reality into another land... other details, like the round ball the old rich river guardian gave to her for ridding the pollution within him is basically a herbal medicine ball, stuff like those are cultural references and like the purging of a curse after chihiro stepped on the slug... for movies like this, it's more important to go on the journey than to seek to comprehend each and every frame - u just need to watch and feel and leave your reasoning behind - much like when you step into a fairy or spiritual world...

y'all should definitely check out mononoke :) personally it's my favorite and I feel like the main message is a little more straightforward but it's still full of symbolism and it's just overall a piece of art (like most ghibli movies tbh)

I think a huge reason why I wasn't scared or had trauma watching this movie as a kid was because of Haku, they say it's impossible for a kid to have romantic feelings for those around the kid's age, but much like Chihiro, I was for sure in love with Haku near the end of the movie. And it gave me a point to focus on to not think of the scary parts plus the fact that I was reading a novel filled with all sorts of supernatural beings at the time I watched this movie with my classmates. And it was really interesting how after we watched the movie, all the girls loved Haku, he was the ultimate childhood crush that I shared with everyone around my age.

I think You don't have to understand everything. That's something important to get in mind when you dive into Miyazaki's movies. I liked this movie as a Kid cause i didn't asked so much, i didn't saw the wierdness as something to understand, you just have yo assume it's wierd and not everything ks explained and you will enjoy it more. Also, this movie is one that you have to watch many times to get all the detalis. I have seen it many times and still get different things every time

The movie of the walking castle is easy to understand, the spell that the young girl had was a mirror of her soul, she looked old because she felt old, and it was the friendship with the sorcerer and not his magic that returned her youth.

英語で吹き替えされてる物はハクの本名が小白川(Kohaku River)になってしまっているけど、小白川(Kohaku River)は通り名で川の神様(水龍)としての本名は饒速水小白主(Nigihayami Kohaku Nushi)なんですよね。そこを省かれてしまっているのが残念でした。英語字幕ではちゃんと訳されてて良かったです😊

so I'm writing this 7 minutes in to your video but you guys are the first people who've noticed that Chihiro's parents are ignoring her. like when they cross the stream, the dad offers the mom a hand because of all the rocks making it difficult to walk and nether of them think "hey, our daughter might slip and hit here head" they don't offer to hold her hand when going through the creepy tunnel, the mom just ignores her as Chihiro clings on to her. there are some theories and conspiracy about why their like this but like I said you guys are the first people I've seen reacting to this movie that takes notice

So I got glasses a day ago and I watched howl’s moving castle and spirited away for like the fifth time AND OMG. THE DETAILS ARE SO COOL😭 my blurry vision made it smoothed out and I didn’t see how detailed it was😢

Now that you've asked what exactly is the plot and what do fans like about it, I also don't know what it is LOL! But I really love this movie and how watching it made me feel Chihiro's trauma. I felt like crying when she was stuck there as if it was me who's in her shoes. Yes! It is definitely Creepily or weirdly heartwarming, the imagery and the emotions (or should I say trauma 🤣) got stuck on me whenever this movie is mentioned, there's really no explaining why.

Why didn't Kamjī keep Haku still when he was struggling; thrashing about, and hitting drawers with his tail? Kamajī was just standing there and watching. Because Chihiro was only keeping Haku's jaws shut, he was free to thrash about with the rest of his body and make a mess. If only there were more people in the boiler room besides Chihiro; Haku, and Kamajī. They could've kept Haku still
