Yet another native cutthroat trout came to net in my quest to catch all the native trout of North America. The Crescenti is a type Searun Cutthroat Trout that is landlocked as far as I know. Awesome setting, incredible wildlife, and my beautiful family around me... It just doesn't get much better!

Man this creek was cool and easy. Otherwise, we caught some fish in the Hoh river, but it was kinda tough for me.

I'm not sure if those are Cutts or Steelhead 'cause they're so small. There is no subspecies of Coastal Cutthroat on the Olympic Pen. Google it. Whatever the case, those are tiny fingerlings of sea run trout. Their parents (that you really want to catch) are out in the saltwater until winter/early spring when they come in to spawn. Yes, the kids are gorgeous but not much of a challenge and easy to kill with improper handling. Stick to the bigger waters for better fish.

Yea the I’m still finding the crescent Lake cutts as being distinct enough for most to consider a separate subspecies. We had plenty of fun fishing the little guys.
