How does one order parts for a refurbished unit? We are missing the hopper and I don't know how to get the part number when no model number is shown now on the door. Only the serial number is written.

I noticed with your steam side, there was a little bit of water pumped out (I guess this is a Thermobloc issue vs a proper boiler) but with mine, it might pump out water for 10 or 15 seconds before steady steam appears. Also, the initial pump action is very slow, but increases to the rate yours is at. Is there a problem? The pump? The Thermobloc? Is there a sensor that detects the priming phase vs the steam phase? Any insights would be appreciated! Thanks folks... great channel from one of my favorite parts of America!

No real danger; you'll just start to see lower dosages of coffee over time which means the grinder needs to be cleaned. The machine needs to be totally taken apart to do that, though, so we recommend you have a tech do it ... who can take it apart AND get it back together again ;) - Kat

I have the same machine. You made the most important point about frothing milk. That tiny hole in the steam wand must not be plugged. I do believe with this machine the hole is blocked with that black rubber piece at the top of the wand. Remove the wand and inspect how far down into the wand the rubber goes. You’ll notice it goes below the hole. I dont see how air can get in the hole. I reversed the position of the rubber and now the hole is not blocked. I need to try frothing now. In the original position it has been impossible to froth properly to make cappuccino art.

Yes - but also, taste it! Sometimes it will run too slow and be bitter, then you'd want to take it back a bit, too. I'd start moving finer by a notch, run a few shots through, then taste. Then keep making it finer until you get the richness you're looking for. - Kat

Hi Kat, can you tell me with automatic Cappuccinatore will fit in this coffee maker?

Hello Seriy S, I don't believe it will, but if you're looking for automatic milk frothing the Syntia Cappuccino might be more your style: www.seattlecoffeegear.com/saeco-syntia-cappuccino-superautomatic-espresso-machine-certified-refurbished. However, the panarello on the stainless steel Syntia is basically auto-frothing. Just hold the panarello in the milk, no expertise required! :-) ~ Sarah

So if you have to fill the grinder for to get a good shot does that mean that the next shot you pull is from previous grind?
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 9 жыл бұрын
Hello knightone57, Correct! You will always have some grounds from your previous grind mixing in with your current grind. It's not a substantial amount, but you can always brew a shot or two before brewing the shot you will drink to use the freshest grounds possible. ~ Sarah

No, that's fine; oily beans will require more frequent cleanings, that's all. You should be fine with your non-oily bean, just make sure to have it cleaned every so often, regardless (every few years) - Kat

Never heard of 'em! I'll put them on the research list to see what their story is. Would be great if they worked well! - Kat

I would rather go with a commercial coffee machine than this one (if I could afford it). I will stick with my Breville. It's my 5th and i'm completely happy with it. I've had so many as I took in international students and ran a Home Stay /BnB. They were in constant use. The later models have different additions now, like a filter spike that needs changing every 2 months and cubes to clean, rather than the old system of white vinegar...I still do the vinegar clean.

Well, it will depend on your coffee. Even if you're using a medium roast, it could be that the coffee has more or less natural oil than other blends, so it's best to just dial it in by test. If you take it too fine and your coffee isn't down with that, then it will just start dripping out slowly vs. a steady stream, so you'll know to back it off a bit :) - Kat

We don't recommend this -- we have had plenty of folks try and unable to successfully abort, then damage their brew units. As such, we don't recommend using Grindz in any superauto - Kat

Hi Kat, would you recommend the Saeco Synthia to be used in a small cafe?
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 10 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not. The maximum amount of drinks per day on any home machine is anywhere from 5-7. If your customer volume is less than that then it could work. - Steven

Thanks Steven, the store guy told me otherwise. I knew he was just making a sales pitch. Good I opted to get a 2nd opinion. :)

I LOVE my Syntia.....that said....I had to send my refurb unit back 3 times and finally Brian (great patience and service) replaced almost everything on the machine (all under extended warranty... BUT $46 every shipment)...that lasted 18 months and it died again....fortunately, because I hated being without the great coffee, I had bought a second machine to use when my unit was in for repair....I read all the reviews and NO ONE had this level of problems (despite religious replacement of filter and descaling)....hopefully, I got the lemon of the lot and everyone else will get better and more reliable performance.....
