This shows you clipping the ridge cross cords before installing the legs, whereas the written instructions have you do the legs first. This makes more sense to install those cross cords to the ridge first. Closeups of everything, particularly the hub, would be very helpful. The written instructions and black and white photos are a bit difficult to discern.

Thank you for the feedback! We agree, it is much easier to clip the ridge cross pieces before installing the legs. As with all gear, we learn as we go. 😃

What is the maximum size hammock that the cricket can accommodate? I looked on the website but couldn't find it..I may have failed

Hi Ian! The Cricket was made to accommodate an 11 foot hammock or shorter.

I am struggling with my stand. Whenever I lift the center to get the peak, the legs slide in to where they are almost vertical. Then, if I have any lateral movement in the hammock (ie sliding up to the front or down to the back), the stand collapses. I am looking at having to run a quide line from the hubs down to the ground to try to prevent the collapsing from lateral movements.

Hi there! We are sorry to hear that you’re struggling. We are here to help. 1) *Almost* vertical is ok for the legs. We just want to avoid the feet pointing underneath the stand. 2) It is easiest to completely assemble the ridge diamond and pop the peak BEFORE you put the legs on, as we do in this video. 3) Your range of motion in Cricket will be slightly different than if you were using trees. It is best to sit straight down in the center, then pivot your feet into the hammock. If you slide up and down and aggressively re-position while in the hammock, it could certainly cause too much lateral motion. We really hope this helps! If not, please e-mail kristen@yobogear.com so we can continue to work with you. It would really help to have a picture of your set-up so we can better help you troubleshoot. We are also happy to set up a FaceTime or private Zoom call to further assist. 😊
