Cricut Design Space Tutorial: How to add Accents and Flourishes to your Writing!

Thank you for doing the new video for PC's. Restarting my computer, installing all the fonts from my Downloads button in my file cabinet, and closing Cricut made all the difference! They all finally showed up in the "Systems" tab in Cricut and I was able to complete my project. A new subscriber and a fan!!! Thanks again.

It will paste a square if the font doesn't match in design space and the one you copied from font book. Just change your font in design space and it should be good to go.

You did a great job. My issue is that you said if using a PC, hit start. I am lost at that point. I bought a font called Beautiful script, it shows up, but again, I can't get to the swashes and hearts because I don't know where I hit "start". Can you tell me exactly where I do that? Otherwise, it was great. Thank you and I subscribed and liked!

next to the windows button, there's a search button (magnifying glass), click it and start typing in 'Character Map' to get to the PC version of what she refers to. Open it and then search for the font you need and you should see the different options (looks a bit different that the MAC version but it's there). Worked for me! good luck

I love this video, BUT I must be doing something wrong. After I upload new fonts to my mac, I checked before downloading and everything I wanted was there. Now here is the problem, when I go into my font book as you show, all the letters and stuff are not there? Any ideas? I really need some fonts with the tails.

Hey, I did a more updated version of this video because there have been a few updates since then. Try restarting your computer, and see if they show up then.

so I have trouble copying the font to my design space because when I l click on the text I only see one text and it is with the font that has the design, I don't have that small box on top with the text/word that I can copy paste my font to. how do I get that access in the design space? Ungroup them, move them to where you want them, then weld them together. If you have any more trouble just let me know, but this should do the trick!

Hmmm… maybe try restarting your whole computer. I don’t see mine in some programs until after I do a restart.

Sorry for the delay, I was out of town! When you copy the glyph you like and then paste it into design space it shows up in the text box as a square every time, but it should show up on the main design as the glyph you wanted once you clock out of the text box. Did it end up working?

To fix it, all I had to do was click Select after clicking the letter you want in Character Map, then make sure it's in the white bar, then click Ctrl +C and you can paste it in Design Space. Thank you so much for this tutorial! I've tried 100 times to figure this out on my own. You're the best! 😉

on a Mac, download font>open font in Font Book>top right click image of 4 squares stacked>scroll down. Hope this helps!

Did you get it figured out? The problem was likely that you just needed to change your font and design space so it match the same font that you copied and pasted from. I uploaded an updated video on this this morning in case you still need help!

It’s actually on your computer instead. In this tutorial I was using a MacBook Pro and found it in Font book.

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling it to see if that changes anything. I downloaded mine from dafont.com

It is just the one font you can’t see the glyphs on? Try another font (I love glitter, Samantha and shorelines all do). The problem might be the specific font you were looking at.

I cannot see my glyphs either. On any of my fonts that I downloaded from da fonts …. My font book doesn’t look like yours. It just shows the fonts. It doesn’t show all of the characters :(

I went to another video and it said Control V. I was hearing Control B to paste so it was not pasting. When i did control V, I was able to paste the swirl. I hope this helps.
