Yes you can but they need to be sublimation and fit the size. Your mug must have a poly coating and straight walls. It is important to look for sublimation (poly-coated) mugs. Thank you for sharing your Mug Wrap svgs. I made the "Alexa Heart" and the "Alexa Butterflies". They are beautiful! However, the "Alexa Stars" cannot be made on JOY, as the size of project defaults to 5.5" x 12.25". Too big for Joy. It will not let me change the size. Could you help change this pattern? We have a bunch of the white mugs left over from a recent event with dark blue wording on them. Is it ok to print over these words and re-use the mugs. You can feel the slightly rasised wording on the mugs. I think you can, but not sure how they will turn out. Be a good practice mug as we learn. Any thoughts?

I only use the heat mat to set the mug on when I remove it from the mug press. I just wait till the mug is cool to the touch before I remove the wrap.

You don't have to use Cricut mugs, but you DO need to use sublimation mugs! They have a special coating that will accept the ink! Dollar Tree and other places usually don't hve these kinds of mugs. 😊

I just got my cricut mugpress and have done one set of mugs using the infusible ink sheets and look great. I have infusible ink pens and want to try them. I live in Ireland so we don't have things as readily available to us, can I use regular printing paper, does it have to be laser? If i use 3 layers of d copy paper, can I reuse these paper or is it a one time use only? Would Teflon baking sheets work to protect d machine from getting ink on it. I'm just trying to find easily accessible and economical ways to do mugpress

It does work best on laser paper but it does work on universal paper. You can reuse the paper if nothing transferred to it.

Great idea, Kathy! You cannot re-use an infusible ink sheet after it’s been heated, but if you weeded your design and put the negative parts on a separate transfer sheet you sure could use those for another mug! 😁

Yes you can place a longer tumbler in upside down, it just has to have the sublimation coating.

Jennifer, thanks for all your videos. I have a question regarding Cricut infusible ink transfer sheets. Do you know if the same infusible ink transfer sheet can be used two times and just give me a very faded shade of the original color on the second press? I want to do a mug with an initial and name but I want a background pattern in the same (faded/lighter) color as the initial so that the initial stands out. Also, if it can be done, what steps would you yourself take to do that? I was thinking of pressing the infusible ink transfer sheet first on a piece of scrap fabric for only a couple of seconds to get some of the ink off and then doing the mug and hopefully getting a faded shade for my background pattern.

Jacqueline, It is not recommended to press it twice. The second press won't look very good due to all of the ink being drawn out of the transfer during the first press.

You could try to cut it again. You may need to continue to adjust and just do small test cuts until you find the best settings for your machine.
