When using a “calligraphy pen” you need to measure the width & multiple by 5 for the proper width & depth of the letters. So for example if you have a 0.5 width, you would set the measurement of the font @ 2.5 & the angle needs to have the top of the tip at 45% from the top edge.

I got a Cricut Explore Air 2 a couple of weeks ago and have been obsessed since. I actually drew out my own .svg file because I wanted to see if that would work and produce writing instead of bubbling! Today I've been testing fonts and seeing what looks good and what looks not as good. I'm loving the Cricut... I even named it- Dottie!

Hi Jennifer! I use the Sharpie extra fine pen a lot! I have the pen adapters, but I also wrap the lower portion on my pen with painters tape until it fits snuggly into the Cricut adapter. Your use of the craft stick below was genius! I use to just eye it and test its position. Thank you!!! 😊

I'm buying an Explore Air 2 from a co-worker. Her mom bought it with plans to make (something?) for my co-worker's sister's wedding. It was never opened and co-worker's mom contracted out the creation of (something?) for the wedding. Time constraints? Learning curve? I didn't ask. ( $100 for an Explore Air 2. I need to kiss my co-worker's mom. I've wanted one to make window decals. You and others have shown me how versatile these machines are. I have a Flashforge Dreamer 3d printer that I love to use to create things. My mind is spinning with new ideas. Excellent video, Jennifer. I'm subscribed. -Dave

I love your videos and they are just as helpful for us 'old timers' as they are for the newbies. I must add that addressing envelopes with a Cricut is very labor intensive. Using my computer with Word and Lucida Calligraphy works great. You can make it bold or italicized for variety and it is very readable. I address all my A2 envelopes (I mail 99% of my greeting cards) and Outlook is my database for the addresses. If you don't have Word and Outlook check out the open source suites out there. Many or all are free. Even if you have to type in each address, it is much easier in my opinion. Also, for those pens that don't play well with Cricut there are now many adapters available. The bottom line is that Cricut helps us all look brilliantly talented! Thanks again for this video. AND THANK YOU CRICUT!
