Great video! On my Maker, instead of the scoring idea, I just leave it as “cut” but then just remove the blade. It goes through the motion of cutting but doesn’t actually cut because there’s no blade. 👍

Great Video! A word of advice from someone who felt way overconfident with this project and didn't watch the full video. Don't put your marker in during the scoring phase of cutting lmao. accidentally drew on the mat lol!

Wow one simple comment from you has stopped my 24hrs of hell because my first project wasn't working, yes I'm a noob. Placing the order of the items in the right hand task column means that it attaches correctly and prints correctly. Oh my goodness thank you. You can't imagine how many times I heard to resize, lock the size and select them all and attach arrrgghhh (I watched so many tutorials and none mentioned this), lets hope it all prints out nicely now lol

I do think I will struggle with lining it up exactly on my mat, I am not good at that. 😃 so the hack with the “scoring” shows you if the envelope is in the correct place? I'm still waiting for delivery of my first Cricut, but couldn't you just delete the envelope, instead of marking it as Score? I would think it would just write the letters and stop. I do not know. I'm obviously still learning. Thanks for a great video!

The score line is to help line it up. For my brain, it’s easier to use the rectangle to align it :) but it’s definitely not necessary!

​@@KarleyHall If you want to use the rectangle, you could also only attach the two addresses but leave the rectangle on its own layer. Then when you get to the layout screen, simply align the rectangle on the mat where you'd like it to be then drag the addresses inside the outline. Once you get it aligned how you'd like, you can click the 3 dots on the top left and simply hide the outline. This way your Cricut won't need to do the extra step of "scoring", but you can still use the rectangle for alignment.

Good idea! I like the motion of the scoring to ensure the envelope is placed correctly- but if you don’t- that’ll definitely work!!

Im using the Explore air 2 and when I resize the square it only lets me select one measurement. If I choose 5.5 for width it makes the height the same. 😕 and when I go to the mat preview screen it has my scored square and my address information outside of the square to the right

This may have been asked, but I literally just got my machine so I am sorry for possible repeating. Do you have to use Cricut pens or can you use other pens?

You can use other pens! There are 3rd party adapters available or you can wrap a rubber band around pens to make them fit in the machine. I typically stick with the Cricut pens because I am lazy haha!

really rather than score just turn off the rectangle layer and all you will see then is the addresses you have entered.
