On November 17, 2004, a young Calgary family settled in for the evening. At about 9 pm, the husband left for work as a security guard, while his wife stayed home with their two children. In the middle of the night, she woke to the sound of shattered glass.
Within minutes the entire home was engulfed in flames. After desperate attempts to reach her children failed, the mother managed to escape. The children didn’t survive.
Senior crime reporter Nancy Hixt shares the unexpected twists the investigation took into who was responsible for the devastating double-fatal fire.

So heartbreaking. The pain this family is going through us unimaginable. The disgusting sentence from our disgusting "justice" system is an insult. TWO DEAD CHILDREN and ONLY 15 years. Unreal. If the Mom sees you talking about going home to see your kids, even now, is very insensitive. That's all this Mother will ever want and will never get the chance to hold her babies. I remember when i was a kid in a fire i got so sick for 2 weeks my body ached, i couldnt eat, or hold much down anyways! This is a Loving Mother's worst nightmare! I'm so so so sorry to hear of the passing of 2 Children. It's especially devastating.. These fires are happening more and more now.. I want answers as to WHO does this? When i was in a fire it was the talk of the town for ages. It was a huge deal. 2 teen boys came into our burning home to wake me up and my dad& got me out safely. I rem ember them but i don't know them anymore. I lost track of them when dad and i moved up north. Now fires are happening all the time and are deadly. And kids being caught in adult issues with demons. They deserve justice! No child should ever be held accountable for the demons of someone else. But sadly the world mostly does not agree.. #FREEPALESTINE #SAYNOTOGENOCIDE

What??? 😮 I was involved in a similar situation. Except for the death of these innocent babies my kids went through a living hell from community, schools etc, Because "children pay for the sins of their father!" is what they all said. While I suffered medical malpractices in blame for the damage her man caused to our house, on witnessing her affair with my ex, his friend and colleague. The old ho not only mockingly called me to tell me she was "sorry I'm the other woman", but went on to be given my divorce settlements in court. And called the unsung hero! That is THE main reason I am, today, a violated invaded senior living in a constantly burglarized + vandalized vehicle. Their dirty triangle, their jealous crimes of adultery and distruction, that my sons and I are punished for. O, Canada! When will u learn to MYOB? Got it, crime beat?

The parents were certainly not honest at all. Everyone dancing around painting them as unknowing victims. The story makes no sense at all. The main culprit sends two crackhead to a house he says is empty... Where was the father actually. And it's his girlfriend that had the affair? So, the mother heard the breaking glass and jumps out a window. Pretty obvious she was full of hate and sick of her marriage... And what do they say? "WHERE'S THE JUSTICE IN CANADA!" Maybe their deceitful, posing little 'community' deserves their own justice system, police department, fire department, hospitals, social workers... And they can pay the bill. 0 sympathy but for the 2 dead children. Deport. Why are they even here?
