I think the moment this game clicked for me was when i first played the Money Train heist, after a slog of a campaign with heists ranging from 2-5 minutes long there comes money train being an actually lengthy heist that felt like a fun challenge, with it's own unique heist track and a clear escalation as the usual beat cops were replaced almost entirely with SWAT. It felt like a tense daring heist in the open because that's what it was.

well its just like how payday 2 got improved over time, because the dev team didnt give up and listened to the feedback they were getting. I surely hope Payday 3 can get a comeback similar but with just 300 concurrent players its looking grim. Im holding on for the progression update for 3, but even then i just dont really have fun playing it.

No joke in saying that the AA and indie gaming spaces are leagues ahead of current-day AAA. The only edge AAA will always have is the obsession with fidelity, fidelity, and fidelity... and I've grown up a long time ago from wanting games to keep looking better. Tired of hearing about... "Oh, my lovely reflections, nose hair, and atmospheric/cinematic effects." Been waiting for this to pop into Steam for a while now... and, if and when it does, I'm gonna grab this for sure!

There is many differences to AAA, when Sony drops one its a solid always ,they never drop the ball when it comes to production value, but 3rd party AAAs suck at the moment. Rockstar takes forever but they also always deliver, same as Naughty Dog but its a loooong wait. Ubisoft are main culprits to the formula with bare minimum and micros up the roof for feeble bs.

I think it's amazing how they had such a shit launch and they had like no reason to continue to work on it and make it better since everyone was shitting on it, yet they still DID, and actually succeeded. Been playing the campaign for a bit, and it's really fun. It's like Payday mixed with Mount & Blade.

@@LilGuyG_ Nope. Game is still horribly optimised after over a year, there's been fewer new missions than fingers on a hand and up until the most recent patch there's been barely a reason to play. It honestly feels like they are in the same boat. Both have solid gameplay but are let down by the quality of life and supporting systems surrounding them like progression. Darktide is however more fun in its current state than PD3 however just from replayability and build customisation. They feel like they release patches at the same rate but Darktide released first so it had a headstart fixing itself so that might be why it might feel better than PD3

@@LilGuyG_ Also people forget Darktide launched with its advertised crafting system removed because it wasn't finished but the premium currency microtransaction cash shop worked flawlessly, which wasn't a good look. To give Overkill some credit, they aren't adding the cash shop until the game is good enough people would actually buy stuff in it.

@@PlebNC I do agree with you about the MTX shop in Darktide, however from looking at both of these games and their launch states, I guess the reason I'm more fond of Darktide is the fact that at least I could play the game at launch whereas Payday 3 was an absolute disaster. It was a tougher pill to swallow in that sense when it came to the bad stuff with Darktide. Like you said, both have great core fundementals but lack QOL and very basic features. I guess we'll have to see when Operation Medic bag is over and THEN start making comparisons to the progresses made.

@@LilGuyG_ To be fair, Darktide also had its share of server related mishaps at launch preventing playing at all. I'm also looking forward to seeing how Op Medic bag shakes out, although I'm hoping Overkill can resist falling into the trap of power creep that plagued PD2 and avoid reverting the gameplay back to PD2's style, such as via the new regenerating armour, as I really like the attrition based gameplay that encourages efficiency, resourcefulness and feels more like the heist fantasy than PD2's glorified rambo simulator.

Honestly this seams more repayable than payday. i still personally think payday 3 has the best stealth gameplay but i must say its refreshing to see this game not use a pager system. its soo much easyer to pull off witch means its far more likely to pull it off unlike in payday where it can be harder than loud gameplay. The rouge lite system seams interesting and def something i would love to see in payday at some point and actuly gives reason to replay heists that isnt just unlocking stuff since u actuly using that money to take over the city. Honestly yea theres alot of stuff payday should look at and learn from in this game cus it honestly has a few neat things in it and i think payday would be a much nicer game if it also did some of what this game dose. like the random generation that actually changes the layout quite substantially. ik payday sorta dose that but this feels like it is actually giving you different buildings rather than just oh the paintings are now in wing 4 rather than 5

I don't know why players rated this bad, when it came out for me it wasn't bad i had a lot of fun even online with other players(it was that small that there wasn't cheaters, no trolling people, never had a bad experience i had mostly guys who played PD2 stealth people who wanted to play this game stealth without doing stupid actions) f.e. i like the "smal" bank in this game more than PD2 bank, yes it is not PD2(i played PD2 from 2014 to 2022 with 2400hours of playing) but exactly thats the good thing about it "it is not Payday 2" :), the only thing that is really bad for me you can't modify guns yourself there are modded guns in this game but they are presettet, everything else isn't that bad. No stupid builds people get on your nerves with, that was refreshing! I didn't play the game for a few month now, but it seems i have to do soon.

After playing 2 days now i have to say the game got slightly worse(don't get me wrong it is a good game) for example: Why do i have to press a key "E"(original it is F but i changed it to E) near a guard now to hold down the guard? Before you could use your gun pointing at a guard which makes just more sense and made it overall "smooth"! Don't get the point here! Now it is harder to get silenced weapons + Headshot with some silenced weapons don't work the damage is to low(?) I startet with lvl20 because i played the game before when it came out, but there wasn't any hint how to get silenced weapons until i got one after 17lvls at lvl37 i got a magazine for lvlup included a silenced weapon... hmmmmm i don't like it, pls give the players hints! The NPCs got super stupid now, i hold one down maybe 15meters away from other NPCs by pressing E and nobody(other NPCs) cares... before it was much much much more challenging(and with that, much better from the gaming experience) But there are also good things: In the storymode now you see if a bank job is hostile(skull) or not(eye with x) There are a tons of things to do in further updates but thats small things(f.e. stealth or loud lobbys *cough*), overall i like the game and it is nice to see the devs stick to their game and listen to the community.

I pretty much wish Payday 3 played like this. Even though stealth can be easily exploited it looks like it's more swift and fun. Payday 3 is a giant waiting game...in game and out of it. I don't need artificial challenge to find fun or feel accomplished. I just want to have a good time. Starbreeze has their focus misaligned, they don't need to make the game realistic it just needs to be believable. Some more 'Hollywood' flair wouldn't hurt, in terms of heist set pieces and how they play out. Crime Boss has too much of the wrong Hollywood flair, this is coming from a 90's kid. 🤣
