My heart! The second Reid looked up and in his meek little voice was like "You actually died...?" my heart tore apart. It's like it just hit him like holy shit she did actually die that day. Not for a long period but she had temporarily left the world. Ugh my heart! JJ looks so guilty and even Hotch had this look on his face that was like "Wait what..??"

why do i get this feeling.. like Reid is the hardest for the team to let go, if they encounter death. like you dont have the heart to leave that boy even if u know u r dying. emily's face after reid said "you actually died..?" kinda said "oh no reid, i didnt mean to leave you.."

This scene hit me hard when Reid first spoke. I had been bingeing the series for the whole month, so as an active veiwer the Tobias incident was still recent for me, even if I didn't really actively recalled it. So when I hit this scene and he said that, my eyes widened and I couldn't breathe for a second. I had actually forgotten the entire incident, and it was so startling and upsetting that he brought it up casually. I imagine for long-time viewers, who've watched the show over years, it was even more of a shock. While this scene seems so minuscule, this is one of my absolute favourite scenes just by how they worked the recall back in. The show picks up and drops so many storylines that sometimes you just forget about them completely. As angsty as this scene was, it's still in my top five.

That was a powerful scene with both Spence and Emily admitting their death experiences but there was one thing left out: What Garcia had experienced. She was shot in Season 3 at the end of "Lucky" and the next episode "Penelope" she coded in the hospital as well for a few minutes. All she told Spence and Morgan back then was that she was in and out of consciousness in the ambulance hearing the "Heroes" song in her head. I remember her punchline "Is David Bowie really God?" But if Garcia was with them or on speakerphone at that moment hearing Spence and Emily's death experiences I wonder what she would have said to them about her own death experience.

The way Reid's fucking heart dropped when he said "you actually died...?" kills my heart. It's interesting because when she says "I can relate to that" Hotch gets it immediately and is a bit shocked, JJ and Morgan understand where it's going as she progresses, but poor babyboy Reid is the last one to get it because it's such an emotional moment, that twitch right before he asks her that question is the exact moment it hits him.

the way Morgan says, "Reid you never told me that." it sounded like he was guilty for not really being there because as friends, you expect them to share everything but Reid didn't because one, statistics, and two, he didn't think it mattered. and the way everybody looked towards Reid when he said it, you could see the shock on the faces

I think Reid may have felt Heaven, because he may have been thinking about God in the back of his mind. Tobias was talking about God when he was torturing Reid and so maybe Reid was thinking about God while he was having that near-death experience. Emily probably wasn't thinking about God when she had her experience. I think Emily was focusing on trying to fight the physical pain to stay alive.

Allissa Lee, feels not fills. As for Reid just mentioning Hankel's name or the dilaudid that Reid got addicted to brings back all the feelings of guilt from the Hankel case for JJ. As for Prentiss, I don't know if JJ or Hotch knew about her coding or not before this scene. But JJ did her job and helped saved Prentiss' life from Doyle and Reid did eventually forgive JJ for lying.

people forget the REASON that Emily faked her death to begin with. that was HOTCHNER's call ..... not JJ's. JJ just was involved with it cuz her State Dept time gave her access to cover stories and aliases for Emily while the BAU tracked down Foyet. EVERYONE SAW FOYET COLD-BLOODEDLY EXECUTE THREE OF EMILY'S FORMER COLLEAGUES IN THE BAU'S BACKYARD. that's exactly what Foyet would have done to them. When he escaped .... Emily had to "die" so they could catch Foyet AND protect his son, the one only Emily knew was still alive. JJ was doing her job. People feel some kinda way about JJ over THIS particular job ... and I do get it ... but she WAS doing her job cuz HER OWN LIFE was at stake too.

@diogenesesenna9323
@diogenesesenna9323 2 жыл бұрын
No one has directly answered you, so I shall. I think you're reading it the wrong way. Left out, Not Trusted, Not a Proper Brother, would all be (in a way) selfish emotions on the part of Morgan (against character where Reid in concerned). I think, given his on screen personality, I would suggest it would be more of Concern for Reid not feeling that he could talk to him and worry that Reid hadn't spoken about it earlier. Still heart-breaking and warming though. Damn but that scene was well written and well acted considering the nuances that can be read into it.

Vivi N, Reid has been the closest to Morgan, Gideon and JJ. We, the viewers never saw Reid tell anybody about the dilaudid addiction but by Season 7 all of them knew about it. Reid was more comfortable telling Morgan about Tobias Hankel after Gideon left. He's surely told JJ as well. But Reid knew that JJ always felt guilty about the two of them splitting up and Hankel kidnapping, torturing, drugging and, yes, killing Reid for a short time. 0:38: The look on JJ's face from just hearing Hankel's name again shows how guilty she still feels about it!

When Spence talked about dying at the hands of Tobias Hankel even though it was five years ago now since that had happened I thought that JJ would get up and give her Spence a hug after hearing his dying confession. And then Spence would say "What's this for?" And JJ would say "I'm happy that you came back to us." And Spence would smile and hug JJ back and say "Thank you." In all of Season 7 I felt that Emily needed a shoulder to cry on over what Ian Doyle did to her. She spent most of Season 7 pretending that it didn't bother her at all but when she was talking about coding in the ambulance because of Doyle's attack you could see the lack of comfort on her face. In this scene I thought that Spence would go over to Emily and hug her after hearing her dying confession even though she wasn't crying then. And then Emily would say "What's this for?" And Spence would say with his voice breaking "I'm happy that YOU came back to us!" And JJ would smile. And Emily would feel happy and she would hug Spence back tightly saying "Thanks, Reid. I'm happy that you came back to us, too!" Even if Emily chose not to cry about Doyle in front of Spence or Morgan I could picture her going into Garcia's lair to cry in front of Garcia and JJ.

Now that I'm rewatching this scene, I can with great certainty tell Emily and all of you that her experience does change. I'm guessing that during that time she didn't have the same experience as Reid because she was always so closed off to all of them and lacked to trust them even though she knew they were always there to help and all of that also led her to be a bit cold. After she came back from London to take Hotch's place, she found herself more open and kind. She didn't have this fear of letting her team in. She became an even better person than she was when she joined the BAU. If any of you are wondering which episode Emily's death experience changes. It's Season 13 Episode 1 "Wheels Up". Emily has this out-of-body experience after being tortured by Mr.Scratch and she ends up feeling this warmth and walks into this light.

Reid feeling a warm light when Hankel killed him was probably because of just how innocent he really is. Hankel was "perverting God to justify murder" like Gideon said back then. I'm sure down the line Rossi was told about Reid's hell with Hankel but it was Morgan and JJ's reaction to Reid's dying confession that got me in this scene. Prentiss went through hell when she was fighting Doyle. Her feeling all dark and cold inside was maybe because it was a dark and cold man who was trying to kill her.

Test, test and retest so as to remove doubts and possible coincidences. Theories of thought are only plausible possibilities.. not actual factual proof. Though it can also become a new addiction of sorts to see how far it can be explored to unlock and understand new things because with each step comes new understanding of the unknown.. isn't the whole point of exploring anything? Gaining new ground and confidence with each step or enjoying that pre understanding stage much like a child on Christmas Day.. that excitement in the air.. the smells .. the feelings associated with that.. the anticipation of opening a present because you've looked at it and when noone else is around picked it up feeling the weight of it.. maybe even trying to find a gap in the wrapping or lifting the sticky tape... But alas there's a sound of someone coming.. quickly putting it back as you found it.. heart racing and trying to act innocent lest you lose the rights on Christmas Day to have your gift? Surely I'm not the only one to experience that kind of excitement..

No quantifying evidence?..The irony is that in the episode he is referring to he was quoting scripture to the killer...& In fact used the scripture as a means for the other team members to find him..

@foxybaby1392 i know, i mean this is so sad, and everyone knows that Reid can barely mention what happened to him, whereas what happened to Emily was publisized in every episode and 'mentioned' to some extent every time someone opened their mouth. i kind of feel like Reid's 'death' is more heartbreaking than Emily's.

Actually I have a love hate relationship with that scene. They just make scenes like these, so that they can do a Reid character episode later this season.
