@@dfed324 non loyal characters can survive the suicide mission, it's just harder for them. There are also characters like Grunt and Zaeed who if they are loyal add to some mechanic that helps them keep other characters alive. It's been so long since I read about this so I'm not entirely sure but I think that's how it works.

@@dfed324 You need to get the overall squad level that holds the line above 2 - if you fail that your crew starts dying and dysloyal first, 0 pointed ones like Mordin, Tali, Jack or Kasumi go first. So you literally cannot affort nearly any mistakes. Assuming Tali is the only one NOT loyal because you did everything but just chose to hand over the evidence: You take with you to the final boss Jack (1) and Mordin (1) so that you increase the streangth of the hold the line squad by removing the 1s (you gotta go over 2) Your team will look in this case like this You will have 4 (Garrus) + 4 (Zaeed) + 4 (Grunt) + 2 (Samara) + 2 (Legion) + 2 (Jacob) + 2 (Thane) + 2 (Miranda) + 1 (Kasumi) + 0 (Tali) => if you do (4+4+4+2+2+2+2+2+1+0)/10 - which is total sum of the Hold the line points devided by the amount of people => 23/10 = 2.3 which is over 2 meaning you will get everyone alive including the totally vulnerable, dysloyal Tali who is 0 BUT thankfully her team is strong enough to life the overall score higher than the survival limit of 2

If you are a renegade but pick the paragon option when talking to the admirals Shepard will say something like "You attacked them know because the council is too busy with the reapers to sanction you". Peace with the Geth and Quarians is still possible however you MUST do the following 1: in ME2's Legion loyalty mission you *MUST* destroy the heretics no exceptions 2: Tali and Legion's stand off in Mass Effect 2 will *NOT* occur because Tali is not loyal (as I said in post 1, destroy Heretics) ) 3: In ME 3 you need to rescue the Admiral Korris and destroy the Geth Fighter Squadrons before doing the final mission on Rannoch. and that is that.

There are 7 possible points and you need 5: - presenting the evidence is - 2 - not getting the Legion vs Tali stand off is -1 => even if yu destroy (+2), Save Koris (+1) and destroy the Geth fighter Squadrons (+1) - its not enough and you will be at 4 instead of 5 and it wont be possible. EDIT Actually, you are totally right. I tried to take my complete shit show save file where I didnt do Legion loyalty quest and ratted out Tali's father AND used Gibbed editor to mark that I did Legion's loyalty mission and I chose to destroy the heretics, after in 3 I did the Koris and squadron missions AND i got it unlocked. Kinda funny when wiki is totally wrong about this and you can rat out Tali's father and still get the 2 points because she was not guilty, charges were cleared and she was pointed out an admiral. (From the 7 points, you miss only 1 which is the Legion vs Tali showdown BUT turning in the evidence gets you the +2 AND you end up with 6/7 with 5 required so you can actually even skip another 1 probably)

What you should do (or should have considering your post is 2 years old) is to make sure that Tali remains in the fleet (turning the evidence compared to the paragon/renegade options, will bring pain and having you locked out of the Tali route for ME2)

If you bother to talk to the admiralty board before leaving to retake the Quarian ship, you'll get a look at the real political aims behind the admirals for calling the inquiry. Do that and you can get Tali exhonerated AND keep her father's evidence secret. That's the best possible outcome.

I didn't say you get the good ending if you half-assed the game. But if you took the time to go through all the sidequests, to fully develop your Love Interest, pick a side on the morality scale and stick with, solve the Quarrian-Geth war, cure the Krogan Geonphage, and successfully manage to get not only Sarren but that asshole TIM to blow their INDOCTRINATED Brains all over the Citadel control room, then you deserve more then being lied to by some holographic representation of Harbinger who only takes the form of the child it "killed" to indoctrinate you. And if you can successfully see through the bullshit that is the Control and Synthesis ending, then yes I do deserve an ending where my Fem SHep can retire with Garrus to a warm tropical planet and work on that Cross species baby. Why? Because to hell with Bioware for not having the balls to make a truly dark ending where your choice is, Make Humanity a Reaper or Dark Energy will RIP the galaxy apart. If I don't get a choice (and you don't) then have the balls to go with a GrimDark ending and not this BS where everyone but my character can get to live in a Reaper free Galaxy.

congokong87 THe lesser of four evils is Destroy. The Star Child CANNOT be trusted. There is absolutely no way it can know about that child or Shepard's nightmares unless it is the one causing them. And the only option that makes it die is Destroy. For Synthesis and COntrol it is clearly in the background as your eyes turn blue, a sign of indoctrination and Reaper control.

In my HeadCannon, which for me trumps all, Indoctrination Theory is correct, Control/Synthesis are evil ploys, Harbinger is the final boss, and Bioware cheated us all. My argument with you was the notion that it is childish to want a happy ending. I feel that if you put in the work, you should get to live with your Love Interest in a cutscene at the end. Or, if Bioware was not going to give us a choice, they should have gone with the "Humanity becomes a Reaper or Dark Energy kills everything."

Yes there are multiple ways one time I had to do it by stirring up the crowd (which works if you saved the Qurians earlier in the game (Letting Tali take the first guy back to her fleet) and the Soldier(you fight the Geth yourself and tell him to stay down) they are at the trial and will get mad that Tali is being treated that way and call out the admirals for their bs Edit: Which then puts the crowd in an uproar

I am having a major issue while doing the tali's father scene For some reason, during the cutscene, The father body is non-existent, in other words, the body ain't even there. I thought it was the texture mods or my graphic drivers were causing the issue, nope, even cleaned out the .ini file and still no. Did single gpu configuration instead of sli, still same problem. I even cleaned the registry of this game, and still. I even restarted the whole trail process from the very beginning to see if anything would change, nope. I only saw it once. When I went back to view it again, the body ain't there anymore. I even did a complete re-install of the game complete with all dlc's. I tried several different resolutions, still no go, with or without anti-aliasing, still no go. Help is needed please anyone, thanks.

It's because you care about her you can't let throw away her future over some misguided sense of loyalty...her dad is the one who committed the crimes not her besides her father definitely would not have wanted her to do this. He wanted her to have a good life which is the entire motivation behind everything he did. If I had no other way to resolve the issue favorably for her(I know there are several alternative ways to save Tali without going against her wishes) I would make the call even if it made her hate me sometimes for the sake of people you care about you have to make the tough calls, you have to do what they need and not what they want.

Actually, I got Tali exiled and was still able to save both. It's all a matter of gaining her loyalty in 2 and keeping her alive.

no you need to have a) enough paragon or renegade points and b) you collect some "points" for certain actions through mass effect 2 and 3 and you need to have at least 5 to safe both. For example, destroying the heretics grants you 2 points, not getting tali exiled gets you 2 too and other points you get through saving some quarian general and some other shit. So its not impossible to save both if tali gets exiled, but it gets way harder, because one of the 2 point options has failed and you need to get all of the other things right then. If you dont destroy the heretics AND get tali exiled, then its impossible to safe both quarians and geth.

What you should do (if you selected the 'turning the evidence' option) on the suicide mission. 1)Never pick Tali in Your team (let her with the second team). 2)On the second team you should put a good loyal leader (mostly loyal Garrus or loyal Miranda). 3)Don't pick her for the hacking task (make sure Legion is loyal and have him do it). 4)Additionally you should pick a good loyal biotic to creat a shield (Loyal Jack or loyal Samara).

I don't have that luck. i left her back there with Grunt, Garrus, & hell, even Zaeed. all big 3 firefighters at her side & she ended up dead still.

+Tim Horton If Tali is not loyal, she can still survive the suicide mission. Do not use her for any tasks, even if she'd be good for them (going into the tube to hack the console on the other side. Make sure Legion is loyal and send him). From there you need to make sure your line has a strong defensive value. Make sure you've got guys like Zaeed, Garrus, and Grunt in the last stand squad while you fight the human reaper at the end and make sure as many of these guys are as loyal as possible. There's still a chance Tali will be killed in said battle, but it does drastically increase your odds that she lives.

+TheTaff512 it's really depressing how they did everything to make her die in ME2. She''s one of the few characters to have a loyalty mission that you can fail, and not just by simply sucking at the game, but by making one of possibly only two choices at the end (especially if you are renegade). And if she is unloyal, she is incredibly likely to die in the suicide mission. Oh AND she's part of one of only two crew mate confrontations that could easily lead to her being unloyal as well. And even if she is loyal, she's one of the few crew mates that can die on the ship, she is first on the selection list for almost all the selections, can die even when doing the thing she is suppose to do, EVEN if she is loyal (if you pick an unloyal leader, or a bad leader), always dies as the second team leader in the second part of the suicide mission, and is one of the squishiest members of the team and thus one of the first to die at the holding the line part. And then of course there's ME3 where Bioware did everything to make you side with the geth and thus killing tali there as well (I don't even want to get into that). Bioware really hated Tali. It's sad, but it's true. They even encourage you to kill her entire species in ME3. Actually, they hated the quarians in general. Every single time the quarians are involved in anything, they get slaughtered. It's funny until you realize that it's true. Litteraly every.single.time. quarians are involved with anything in the books, comics, games ,ect. they get slaughtered. Every. Single. Time. Tali wasn't even suppose to be a teammate in ME3 until Patrick Weekes convinced them to do it... despite the fact that Tali had the largest and most devoted fanbase. Bioware HATED the quarians. And what's the worst you can do to Liara in all three games (apart from having her die at the very end if you dont have enough war assets)? Not hug her. Yeah, clearly no favorites here.

WOW people the ending is fine not the best but CERTAINLY not as BAD as everyone is making it out to be in this comments section and beyond like other sites and videos and stuff. Not everything is perfect... you know this is part of the reason why I feel there are so many problems in the world because of people's... FEELINGS. Not that feeling are bad feeling a certain way towards a person can be justified if that person is a despicable person ruining other peoples lives, but if people are fighting with each other because of how they feel about something even though you both believe in good things it just becomes very VERY sad and ridiculous. You can dislike my opinion but just try and understand, but feel free to dislike this comment because as in today's society opinions don't matter. (Sorry just felt like I needed to type this because of some of the things I've seen in this comments section)

No, it's still possible. However you MUST destroy the Geth in Legion's loyalty mission in ME2 (Legion will ask you to reprogram the heretics. You must say no).

No you don't need to destroy the heretics. I rewrote them and I still got the option to broker peace between the geth and quarians. You just have to make sure Tali & Legion survive the suicide mission, save Admiral Koris on Rannoch before going to the geth stronghold, disable the geth fighter squadron by going into the geth consensus and seeing their past history during the Morning war, and constantly remind everyone that going to war with the geth was a bad idea. (Not too sure about that last one)

joey13133 This isn't true. From my understanding in me2 you need to do at least 2 of the 3 to broker peace: 1. Convince court to end trial without turning over evidence 2. Destroy heretic geth 3. Resolve fight between Tali and Legion in the AI core Without at least 2 there can't be peace

WavesDontDie 1-probably true. Both paragorn and renegade speach should work. 2- nope, overriding them is the paragorn option. Doing it WILL not affect the peace between geth and quarians (don't know what happens if Tali dies, though) 3-yes, not picking sides is the best option overall
