There are plenty of pro games where teams score instead of relying on Rayquaza because they're already ahead anyway where even if the enemy got Ray, they would have a very difficult time catching up. Spinal had a big advantage going into Ray. Another team did it recently, and I'm pretty sure Cris did a video commenting on that. I think Spinal didn't do it right because they didn't get to dunk enough points and that Slowbro uniting Snorlax...

If all 5 members had 50 points each, they could've killed the game with rhat Hoopa portal. It felt like a rushed and spontaneous decision and none of em actually prepared and collected enough energy. Good idea. Very poor execution. Or.. since they were winning, they should've just zoned TTV.

thing is they couldn't zone ttv anymore because of their misplay with slowbro uniting snorlax. that's the only reason why they didn't dunk more because he got caught and got bursted

If you look at the ray fight TTV were down points/goals but they were up in exp. So they were favored as long as they had enough time to go score after (assuming they win the fight of course)
