I think the whole "Multiverse is a Cancer" Thing is meant to be isolated to this incident, the Multiverse shown in the Tomorrowverse isn't a natural one, but rather one born from Constantine shattering the old DCAMU by killing Darkseid. It's not a "true" multiverse, it's just one universe that's being stretched, like a shirt being unraveled into individual threads? If that makes sense. Its the fabric of one reality being forced to sustain infinite variations of itself, but it cant. that was set up at the very beginning of the Tomorrowverse when it was revealed Constantine "wounded" the universe itself. Now we see the consequences of that wound in the universes immune response. So yeah, this isn't a "crisis" for the wider, true multiverse or even other animated media, it's a isolated incident of one "multiverse" that was never meant to be collapsing on itself.

@WiGgYof095 ай бұрын
Yeah, the comic event worked because they had to merge the continuity. The other earth's interacted with each other and in some cases, comics that were canon were retroactively turned into an alt history. No one knew what was and wasn't canon. P.S. - I also appreciated tomorrow's verse for the EXACT same reason. Not that they're my top favorites, but you managed to express precisely what made them enjoyable for me. I'll be deeply saddened if we never see any versions of these again. It was almost like watching BTAS being dismantled on screen, and it truly tugged at my heartstrings. Then it hit me that they're "annihilating" all of them. While I understand they may not generate massive profits, they could view it as a steady source of smaller, consistent revenue. There are many of us who would always tune in, no matter what. I comprehend that the superhero genre has grown wearisome for some, leading to the emergence of grittier, more satirical content like "The Boys" and "Peacemaker" - which, don't get me wrong, I love watching them for different reasons. However, I still hold a special place in my heart for witnessing my beloved classic superheroes in their traditional roles. Occasionally, I long for content where the heroes emerge victorious, saving people and planets. Sadly, it appears that the current trend is to phase out and substitute them with characters like "Homelander" and "Billy Butcher." Why can't we reside in a world where both styles coexist in harmony? The narrative they presented implies that traditional superheroes are “dead” and the storyline I'm alluding to is widely recognized. Observing this, it seems they're advocating for a total elimination of the classic heroes to make way for a "Watchmen-esque" replacement, albeit grittier and more satirical. I understand the need for this evolution, but it's becoming a cliché trend in itself, and there's a certain irony in that which the creators may not have realized yet.

Each person has kids with another, which goes as much as it does here. Each of those persons carry on a massive amount of timlines within their own realities that make up their body. That is why say, Godzilla never meets Mickey Mouse, they are in multiple different bodies. Sometimes they encounter each other, but only brielfy, and it is forgotten. Basically, thinking that there is an entire planet of realities, Imagine their galaxy, their own universe, what lies beyond that? That's why Roger, thinking about reality, no one does it...because it can make them go crazy!" My pops is a cool dude.

I loved the Tomorrow Verse because the quiet bits make the action more impactful. I think that's the key behind all good action stories; a balance of character and action. Empty spectacle is why the current MCU is failing; after Endgame people just saw empty spectacle or dense character pieces so both audiences tuned out. Same for all failing franchises. People want people to do cool things, not action figures or complicated BS without clear investment. The problem is that balance requires planning, a unified vision, and a deep understanding of the source material if adaptation is the goal

Don't worry about it. From a mathematical point of view, it's nonsense. You can't destroy an infinite number of something. No matter how much you erased, you'd still have an infinite number of it, meaning that not only do all those universes still exist, an infinite number of iterations of them still exist. The writers are thinking in terms of their finite experiences but that's inapplicable since by definition the infinite isn't finite. Besides, if Owlman is to be believed, succeeding in destroying the multiverse would simultaneously spawn another multiverse in which you failed.
@mountandblade775 ай бұрын
Well the movie itself revealed this isn't a "true" multiverse, It's one Universe whose fabric is being stretched into numerous variations of itself. A universe shattered by Constantine...And it can't sustain it. So if it can't sustain it, then this "Multiverse" isn't truly infinite, the crisis is just the universes immune response trying to collapse it back down and stop what is essentially runaway cancer on a universal scale. The universe is also only branching via "Major" decision points, what constitutes these major points isn't known. But I think 1,000 anti-monitors can probably mop up however many hundreds of thousands of "shards" of this universe there are if only one of them was a threat to the whole. Also means none of the other properties are affected by this, just the shattered DCAMU/Tomorrowverse.
@Sm0key_Rates5 ай бұрын
@@doltsbane that wouldn’t be a fail they weren’t trying to destroy all universes just the ones without Darkside. @kf81135 ай бұрын
Well, there is such a thing as smaller and larger infinities, like 'all prime numbers' versus 'all numbers'. Both are infinite, but one can be contained in another. Likewise, it would be possible to remove as many unique numbers as you'd like from an otherwise infinite set, and it'd still be infinite, and those numbers would still be truly gone.
@GrayFoxHound95 ай бұрын
Not really. There are "infinite" universes because they constantly split themselves. This means that they aren't really infinite universes, but a growing number of universes that will become infinite in infinite timespan. every binary choice in every universe creates 2 more universes. That's a lot of universes. Doubling with every smallest fraction of time. Numbers so exponentially big that they might as well be infinities. But they still aren't. There are bigger numbers. That means that there are n^2 universes where n goes to infinity with every moment You just need to have n^3 antimonitors to spawn for every choice and destroy universes to destroy "infinite" universes. And antimonitors shouldn't be a choice in that case, but a certainty

The idea I choose to accept is that all those other earths, teen titans, JLU, all exist in a separate multiverse where darksied never existed. The idea that even when the most evil of evil doesn't exist, people are still, heroes. That it was not through a series of events due to a very evil looking baby existing that lead to these heroes existing. That's just me though.
@aurahoneydew96073 ай бұрын
Im still ticked at the lack of crossover with past universes. Like we still didn't get Static Shock meeting the Teen Titans. Also can't pawn it off as an adjacent universe because you know the intention. Like across the Spiderverse.

Even Cartoon Network's cartoons had crossovers, multiversal in a way at the end of their run times. Dragon Ball has Dragon Ball Heroes "multiverse"/Anime/Game... even if quality of them may be low, it's a circle of life.

Whats interesting is. Shows like batman the animated series. Superman the animated series, JLU, super friends, teen ttins and many others exist ONLY because flash reset the universe in thr 2020 movie. Meaning all those shows despite coming out years earlier are AFTER justice league apocalypse war. But newer shows like harley quinn, my adventures with superman and batman caped crusader are all in the new universes created. Ik it should all be a prime universe. But its fun to think about.

Dude fr. I didn't even know this movie came put until I saw a video review it. This should've felt like an event. Something to really get hyped up about, but instead it felt like another movie in the Tomorrowverse. Imagine if they had mixed different characters from other animated movies/shows. The different styles and tones. It would've been epic.

Here's my head cannon: The crisis Earths were just the protoversions of the Earths we all know, later there will be an event similar to Zero Hour and then Final Crisis that will culminate with the forming of the universes as we all know spawning the Timverse and all the verses that we once knew. My only clue, Aquaman being part of the League

I’m curious why they decided to adapt Crisis because the intent of the comics was to eliminate the confusion of multiple versions of characters and to centralize the DC universe. But this adaptation didn’t really fulfill that purpose because as you said there are still other unconnected DC animated series out there

If they decide to just hold off on making another animated universe for a while and just adapt some stand alone stuff for the foreseeable future, I think I'd prefer that. I love seeing them play around with different animation styles, allowing different actors take a shot at the rolls and all that. Maybe after some time they can decide "Oh that style worked really well in that one movie, NOW we're ready again for another extended universe, let's use that."

i appreciate what you said about quiet moments in these movies. I just wish the animation wasn't so stiff. especially batgirl was hard to look at for me.

That ending just didn't feel even remotely earned. It was melancholy at best. . . missing the mark at worse. It just came off as a "hey, remember that thing?" fest and nothing more. And that idea just doesn't work. Especially when the "things" we are supposed to remember feel. . . unfinished. It's like. . . it's like saying that we are in a series finale when we are still in the middle of a story arc. It just doesn't work. What it was all for, what it all meant. . . that version of the universe was barely developed before they scrapped it, but they tried to retroactively scrap other universes we actually cared about in the process. Need I remind everyone that the Justice League wasn't even established until crisis part 1. This is not the stage you host "the ultimate ending" on. I cannot stress this enough. . . this idea. . . with that execution. . . just does not work. It was a rushed universe that tried to take everything else down with it. . . and that idea. . . it just doesn't work.

I like how after the original crisis there was an earth 2 Superman, superboy (prime) and Alexander Luthor outside of the main universe. I also liked the Deadman/Supergirl Christmas story. I’m hoping this interpretation still leaves room for those comic plot points to be possible.

I wouldn't mind a video about "Batman: Mystery of The Batwoman"; it debuted as kind-of an anachronism, since it was after Batman Beyond had ended and Justice League had a 2nd season roll out.

I'm perfectly fine with all the multiverse coming to an end. It's been overused at this point and if they at least stop with all the universes merging or crossing over while still allowing for different versions to exist (ie elseworlds), I'd be fine with that.

I think trying to strike the DCAU destruction as not canon because "Darkseid is in it" is a little bit of copium. That's very clearly a continuity error. And disregarding the clear intent of the scene as a continuity error also kinda means disregarding the entire movie, since it's also based in the contiunity error that the DCAMU was not in a Multiverse. It was. It appeared in Teen Titans VS Teen Titans Go!
