Brings back memories...although I always felt more immersed in the arcade version. The game gets you started as quickly as possible and once you're in, the action doesn't stop.

Playthrough of the Garland Square scenario. This scenario was the one featured in the arcade version, which had been released in 1999. The PS2 port was released in 2004 and featured all of the levels from the arcade game along with a new set of levels. It also features enhanced graphics, like the PS2 port of Time Crisis II, but again, I wish there was an option to switch to the original graphics in there. Crisis Zone plays like Time Crisis II, but instead of having a handgun you have a machinegun and instead of taking cover behind objects you take cover behind the world's strongest ever riot shield. Most enemies have health bars so you've got to shoot them a few times before they die, but most of them don't take that many hits to kill. I did fine in stages one and two, but stage three was where I lost two of my lives. I just can't seem to get good at the bosses of the third stage, the fat guy I can deal with but the guy with the blades always gives me trouble. I lost a third life in the fourth stage due to running out of time, but that was OK as the boss is just some old guy you can't help but feel slightly sorry for as the good guys blast the hell out of him in the ending. He wasn't even an old guy in the arcade version, either. I wonder why they changed his appearance?

@@dhanarsantika I honestly think that RS had the 'right idea' of leaning into it being super over the top and wacky. It makes it easier at least to believe the shield and the bullet sponge bosses are made of some kind of fictional material. The attempt to maintain some 'realism' in TC4 was just cringe and it didn't work at all. Having the two main characters jumping up on a pyramid of soldiers to push a big red button was laughably bad. Also having Captain Rush and Beth constantly giving you instructions got so annoying. Yes I know we have to stop the bad guy, stop telling me.

Me too. My favorite part aside from the object destruction is on the game seems smoother over all on arcade cause of the animations. I love how the defeat of the 2 guys that blow up is handled on the arcade way more. The arcade keeps the anime aesthetic that the series has since part 1.

One question keeps bugging me: WHY THE HELL ARE THOSE NPC ALLIES DOING NOTHING OUTSIDE OF CUTSCENES? At least Razing Storm had the NPCs in your team SHOOTING at enemies, even if they you still need to do the actual killing.

Marq FJA maybe attacking the enemies that are outside the screen?
@MarqFJA876 жыл бұрын
What enemies? The ones that the player ALREADY shot? Or the ones that you actually see entering the scene as the player is moving from one place to another? And what about when the player is clearly in a place where there's no room for an "outside" enemy for the definitely-present NPCs to shoot at?
@Kaiza-yh3gd6 жыл бұрын
Marq FJA well that's a big mystery
@Kaiza-yh3gd6 жыл бұрын
Or maybe they're just not doing anything at all and only appear for good looks and make the game more real looking
@MarqFJA876 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I was thinking. And it's a bad thing, BTW. Like I said, Razing Storm had the team actually shooting at the enemies alongside you, even if they actually didn't hit anything gameplay-wise.
@cpup1007 жыл бұрын
It would've been Nice if they remastered all of the PS2 Time Crisis games to PS3, or maybe brought them to the PS2 Classic List Via PS3. But they never did, which is weird. Plus I love Rail Shooters like this. I have the Rail Shooter Pack on PS3 that includes: Time Crisis: Razing Storm which includes the Full back story, Time Crisis 4, and DeadStorm: Pirates. I also have Typing of the dead Overkill, that Includes the Original House Overkill Arcade game. I would've gotten Maybe Rambo, but the reviews were so bad that Steam actually removed the game from the Store.

@hbdragon88 Жыл бұрын
It would be really cool to have them back. It's harder to play the games using GC1 or GC2 since they use CRT tech. I'd like to see an action pedal though - I've tried playing Razing Storm and TC4 on PS3 and it's extremely awkward without a pedal. HOTD is easier and I've played HOTD4 a dozen times.

It was done to stop the constant flickering on the screen if the gun isn't calibrated. So, instead of having it flicker one time per shot, it just has the fog. if you want the flickering instead, skip the lighting calibration after the gun calibration.

It won't work with PS Move since it's a PS2 game, I don't have Crisis Zone anymore so I can't test if you can even play it on the PS3 backwards compatibility, but I'd personally recommend getting a PS2, a CRT TV and a G-Con or a 3rd party lightgun and play it that way, you'll have far more fun.

Still kinda enjoyable, but it's the worst in the series, at least for my tastes. We got scarcely detailed and almost monochrome graphics, anonym/generic main playable character and enemies, no plot/cutscenes at all, too much militarish style, repetitive gameplay and scenarios. Probably TC 4 is even worse. My fav is the second game, moreover much enhanced on Ps2 compared to the coinop.
