As a tunisian, I feel so sad for what happened to Lebanon, I grew up reading Lebanese literature, the Lebanese pop music was widespread in my country and every arab speaking country, the City of Carthage, where I live, with many other ancient cities in Tunisia were founded by Lebanese phonecians, I hope this beautiful culturally rich country will rise above its issues and continue to fascinate us 🇹🇳🇱🇧

Anyone in the “first world” needs to pay attention to this. Note the physical infrastructure, the cars around, how people look and dress, the evident levels of education. Note how quickly and completely it all collapsed anyway.

It's evident young educated people prefer and need stability. All Lebanese would like it, I hear it. What I have understood is that Lebanese in Australia have brought the sectarian fighting and allegiances into Australian urban areas. Is that the answer to your nations instability and collapsed economy? And then taking out their anger on non-Lebanese, is that a solution? Lebanon is geographically in a beautiful location. It's a shame well intended people can not change and improve the country's status.

Maybe Lebanon can start acting like a single nation and stop sectarian politics. When they vote for their sect no matter what, they cant expect competent govt. They also should get along because conflict is bad for the economy. Also they live beyond their means, otherwise they wouldn't need foreign capital flow. A poor nation should not expect or try to live like the west. They all had their cellphone and were dressed ok and were not skinny. A country with food crisis needs farmers and cattle herders and not so many college graduates. In brief Lebanon needs to grow up and live in "its reality"

Companies have to jump through hoops to get VISA's or otherwise hire large amounts of workers. Also you need a proper banking system to be functional to pay said workers, the banks stopped working in lebanon. Ontop of all that many of the jobs require proper infrastructure to get going. Other nations already have all of those along with low wages.

Lebanese should start living a primitive life. Start building your own garden, grow your own food, learn to exchange goods without money, learn to use bicycle to travel, learn to enjoy life without technology. You can not change the country's economy, so learn to survive and live a simple life. Stop waiting for donations. If it comes, good. If it doesn't, then face the reality and live a simple life.
@shtoni2 жыл бұрын
Homie I live here and I can tell you shit doesn't work like that around the world and especially here in Lebanon lmao. There's no space for gardening, trips are too long for biking and lots of the geography/roads simply do not allow it. Try to live life without technology, see how long you can go for. If you're not educated about the situation and the people here, do not try to say anything or spout your nonsensical bullshit or talk down about the people of Lebanon. Mind if I ask, which country do you belong to?
@caymyles2 жыл бұрын
So you are saying, it is better for Lebanese to wait for donations every single day, which Lebanon will not comply the conditions set by IMF, rather than start living a simple life? Lebanon is part of the 3rd World country, and yet they do not pay income taxes to their own government. Lebanon only thrives for donations since years ago. Now donations are all used up, they're asking for more. Lmao.
@shtoni2 жыл бұрын
@@caymyles I didn't state anything regarding donations. I simply dismantled your idiotic way of thinking, 'live a primitive life'. Majority of the people living in the country are doing somewhat decent, now granted I live in extremely good conditions with a large sum of wealth. I guarantee you that the ideas of donations and help do not cross the Lebanese mind. These people riot on the streets and have fought against the government for countless years and have always found a way to come back, just read about the prior civil war(s). At this current moment, we're waiting on elections (which really isn't going to do much, but it's our best option), which will hopefully help elevate the Lebanese moral and lead to economic growth.

Forget for just a minute about any political ideologies or affiliations and take a look at how Israel's agricultural structure started from very basic roots and how the kibbutz movement and the moshav movement were so successful. In even urban areas, outdoor and even indoor spaces can be repurposed for agriculture. It absolutely is possible, but for that one requires patience, and people who are prepared to work hard to transform previously infertile spaces into food production spaces. It's entirely possible. Lebanon has fertile soil and a good climate for growing food and rearing animals.

If their country leader is like Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew, they will be as rich as Singapore instead of this failed state.
