I used to help my mom while making Chakli for Diwali. Even karanji as well, though it's time consuming, but very tasty, without which Diwali home made sweet is incomplete. Wonderful to see your mom still doing this beautiful item.

Thank you for this recipe. My mum grew up in India, (Tamil Nadu). Whenever my sister and I go to the Indian store in the larger city near us, mum asks us to get her Murukku. You mentioned there is a small difference between chakli and murukku. Is it enough to make a huge difference or could I make the chakli and call it murukku for her? I believe she would enjoy they homemade so much more.
