Keeping in the mistakes like the ghee spillage and eating when too hot is so smart and sort of charming. Good for warning others about what could happen when you're not paying attention and also to try to be patient with so much deliciousness in front of you. Great video! I love this kind of snack so much. My mother just made namak para with methi today.

There is nothing so warming as stories being told in the kitchen as we cook together. I would say as women cook together, but my dad used to make a lot of food in our house, and tell me things about what his mother cooked in Portsmouth when he was a boy in the 1930s. They look delicious Chetna.

Appreciate you leaving the ghee flowing on the stove in the video, cause we all have this happen in our kitchens & it is affirming

Yum. With a sweet-sour tamarind sauce, dried fruit pickle or coriander chutney. My mouth is watering.

4:46 😂😂 I feel for you, Chetna! Thank you for showing that even you have kitchen mishaps! 🫂🫂 I must try these to share with my 'grand kids'; they'll be surprised that their Canadian granny can make tasty traditional Indian snacks!

Thanks for this lovely looking recipe. Can the oil be saved and reused? Or does it have to be thrown away.

As always, appreciating your wonderful recipe videos, Chetna! I only wish you would include a written version of the recipes. I have 3 of your books but have neither the space to store nor can afford all of your books. So many KZbinrs include or provide a link in their videos to their recipes. I guess it's a choice...thanks for listening. I do love your recipes.

Looks yummy... I think it's part of the immigrant experience, that you still make things, because you can't necessarily buy things so if you want holidays the way you remember them in terms of food, you are in the kitchen a lot, so I tend to make seasonal phone calls to mum. What oil did you use for frying?
