Hi Cristina, I just finished watching you do a reaction video for the first time- Jinjer, Pisces. I enjoyed your giggles, I liked your blue eyes, and thought you had a decent voice so I came here to check out your singing. I don;t know a lot about Opera or classical singing but I was really surprised at what a beautiful voice you have and how expressive you are in your performance.

I love hearing female vocalists cover male artists who have such a distinctive voice as Nick Cave does, and this was really well done I thought. It had a more bittersweet quality to it, especially with the piano arrangement that accompanied your vocals; a nice contrast from the original's more sorrow tinged hopefulness. Reminds me of those Female Tribute to Tom Waits albums that came out a while back. I wouldn't mind hearing Straight To You off Henry's Dream performed in the same vein, or perhaps Christina The Astonishing from the same album. P.S. Can't wait for the next Tool reaction.

I think your critique is spot on. I do like the original but don't think its the best song on that album. But she just takes this song and seems to make it more lovely to me.

Also, if you want to experience some incredible “girl power” from current all-female rock bands, I recommend you check out the following 3 bands and videos. - BAND-MAID - “Hate?” - official live video. The Maids are remarkable - talent & charisma to the extreme. Japanese 🇯🇵but incorporate lots of English - w/ subtitles! - The Warning - “Evolve” - official MTV VMA’s appearance video. 3 sisters from Mexico 🇲🇽 singing in English. - LOVEBITES - “Holy War” - OLV - a classical trained vocalist! These are absolutely 3 of the best rock bands, regardless of gender, on the planet 🌎 Check them out and I’m sure you’ll agree and be blown away like I’ve been - like with Dimash - in their own way. Beautiful. Just a great interpretation. This and Camille O’Sullivan’s are my absolute two favorites. And they’re completely different which is super interesting because they’re both great & yet you can’t really compare them. Because - well - they’re so completely different. Yet both stay true to Cave’s intention and both are extremely beautiful. Anyway, if you ever do an album of Cave & Cohen covers let me know. That’s a hint by the way. I bet you could do a killer interpretation of many of Cohen’s songs.
